So what do the other basketball leagues think about the ABA?
The NBA D-League (NBADL), CBA, USBL, WBA, etc ...

I didn't know basketball leagues could talk.

I assume laughter comes frequently.

or mounting frustration at the number of bridges burned in areas that could have supported a well-run franchise in another league, but instead were 'blessed' with another member of Joe's 10K circus clowns.

I try not to think about the ABA. It gives me a headache.

Really, the search for humor is my only true interest in the ABA.
I kind of sort of can't understand why people here still try to take the competition and related formats seriously... when the league clearly shows that this is about 5th on their priority list. There's a time to support a good owner, perhaps, but there's a time when "you must kill it to save it" becomes a predominant thought.

Rochester is definitely D-League material. Maryland could be, with the right marketing. Their arena is big enough, but I don't know if they can afford it. With their recent playoff decisions, the ABA and CBA seem on shaky ground.

Is $400,000--or was...probably $500,000 for next season, which is steep, but Rochester could probably handle it. Except it would cost a fortune for them with traveling.

..particularly if they could bring over one or more of the ABA teams in New York City or New Jersey. Albany isn't that far from Maryland, and neither is Pittsburgh (like six hours bus), so if you had a team in the middle, the road trips wouldn't be too bad.
I don't think Arkansas is reachable for the CBA, but fits pretty well in the D-League between Tulsa, Austin, and Fort Worth.
