Hockey star Bobby Hull's WHA announced a major move today. They are creating an entire new Northern Division which will be located in Alberta.

1. It is their first step towards creating another 10 teams which will expand the league from six to sixteen teams.

2. An investment group in Alberta wants to buy the newly planned Edmonton franchise.

3. New large cities like Edmonton's 700,000 person population should create a new base of shareholders which could see major value in the currently miniscule market cap of just over one million dollars.

4. More cities will be sold as new WHA franchises in the Alberta region.

5. The money that comes from the sale of the franchises will shore up the balance sheet of the WHA

6. Bigger cities means more people through the turnstyles and more revenues for the WHA

7. All of this coupled with the massive lawsuit WHKA has said it would file against some crooked finance people who have issued and sold 100 million illegal shares into the market could spell big gains for people who accumulate WHKA stock here. WHKA is the trading symbol of World Hockey Association.

From today's PR:

"The World Hockey Association (PINKSHEETS: WHKA) unveiled plans for a new Northern Division of teams situated primarily within the Canadian province of Alberta." ...
The WHA also informed investors today that league officials were in route to Edmonton, Alberta for late stage discussions with an investment group which has expressed intense interest in purchasing the WHA franchise scheduled for that city of over 700,000 people. The WHA also said it is in advanced discussions with several other groups who have made inquiries about purchasing franchises scheduled for cities located throughout the Alberta region. ...

Edmonton is a key city that factors strongly in our plans for the new Northern Division. The fan base is strong in Edmonton and the talent level of players found in and around that city is very high. We believe we are close to inking a deal for this important WHA Northern Division franchise." ...

Smith added, "League Commissioner Bobby Hull and I have been in communication with Gary Unger about the WHA's plans for Gary to oversee a series of hockey camps throughout the Alberta province this summer. Gary has told us he is very excited to work with the hockey talent found in the Alberta Province and feels certain it will only serve to boost the credentials of The WHA as a whole."

Smith also declared, "When all of our plans come to fruition, the junior hockey world is going to know that the WHA is a force to be reckoned with. We did not revive the WHA to just play around. We are here to stay and we will make a serious impact on the business of hockey. That's a promise."

What is with you Global Development shills? You keep posting that same old tired article all over the internet. The Golden Jet deal is taken care of. Now the WHA is moving into Alberta and will have no fear of any WHL team Why? Sources have indicated that Peter Puck is coming in to the WHA

The WHL will have to pack up and leave. lol

Good luck on your bashing campaign. The clock is ticking to the battle royale in the Nevada Courtroom. Rumor has it that in addition to Briner, over 25 John Doe internet aliases will be sued for stock fraud and manipulation.

The stock is selling for .0047 a share. That means you can by two shares for less than a penny. That shows you right there the stability of the company.

I invite starboy to visit the school where the mind-reading classes were offered, and ask for a refund.

I'm just a WHL fan (modestly at that) who came across complaints.

Of course, I also tend to look down on fly-by-night leagues in any sport when there are already plenty of leagues (if not too many).

this is why it is so cheap, but probably will not be for long. From another site which specializes in stock info:

"Yes. We are saying that GDVM issued no loans to WHKA AT ALL! You can find all the loans and convertible debentures dealings of the company in its SEC filings. I am sorry to inform you that there is nary a mention of any loan to WHKA filed with the SEC by GDVM. Now, for some odd reason, they had some strange dealings with themselves through other entities. Nexas Asset Holdings has a convert issued by GDVM. lol Lack of arm's length dealings that are undisclosed as to relationship are illegal.

John has meesed up all over the place according to my research. He isn't just a bad CEO, he has been involved in some illegal transactions, like Texas 504s done with companies that were not legal corporations in the State of Texas.

I can prove all of this.

Life's a ***** for a scammer when they run into me. I hate scammers and I am no novice in dealing with them. No 29 year old skinny Vancouver lawyer with ill-intent is going to escape my wrath. lol

I love busting scammers. it makes my day".

The "John" he is talking about is the CEO of GDVM< John Briner. WHKA is said to be readying a lawsuit which could be for as much as 50 million dollars. Game over when that happens.

Does GDVM have $50 million. You can't collect what doesn't exist. (Sometimes even when it does exist, you can't collect, just ask the families of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown).

GDVM has quite a lot of stated assets and since this is fraud, WHKA should have the ability to seize them if the court agrees. It isn't just GDVM either. Briner has a lot of companies and he should be personally liable because in fraud cases, the corporate veil is broken. Do a google search on John Briner , The Briner group and John Briner Law.

WHKA was up 77% today. Nice.

WHKA Confirms Edmonton Area Franchise Added -- League Expansion in Washington State Also Underway -- CEO Smith Comments on Legal Action

VANCOUVER, BC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 03/20/07 -- The World Hockey Association (PINKSHEETS: WHKA) confirmed the planned Edmonton, Alberta area franchise has been sold to an Edmonton investment group. League officials stated the new owners plan to announce a name and team logo for the franchise shortly, and at a time which will be convenient to its marketing efforts Further discussions are underway in the Alberta Province with other investor groups planning franchises throughout the region.

League officials also completed a series of successful meetings in Seattle, Washington this weekend which addressed expansion plans with US investor groups for new teams in the Washington State area. The WHA had previously stated league expansion plans will ultimately increase the number of hockey franchises operating under the WHA umbrella from six to sixteen teams.

WHKA CEO, Ricky Smith stated, "We will be reformatting our divisional structure as a result of all the new teams coming into our league. The face of the WHA will look quite different for the 2007-2008 seasons. We survived some difficult problems during our first season. We feel these problems were the primary result of lack of good faith and even fraud from those responsible for former finance arrangements for the league. We do not anticipate we will have these same problems again. Good things are happening very fast and we are planning to start our new season with a bang."

Smith also added, "WHKA shareholders, and hockey fans alike should be pleasantly surprised with the level of hockey they see in our league next year. We made great strides during the 2006-2007 season and we expect the momentum generated from our successes will continue to improve the level of play coming from our young men. We think we have some of the best coaching available in Jr. Hockey and League Commissioner Bobby Hull and I do not anticipate this will change with the expansion. "

When asked about the currently hot topic of legal proceedings with Global Developments, Inc, Smith retorted, "WHA's attorney began what will become a large series of responses last Friday night. We are now engaged with these people in the courts and expect to be able to comment any day now on the claims we will be making not only against Global Developments, Inc., but against all the parties involved in this sham against our league and our company. When it is all over, we expect the courts will award full and all remedies requested. The evidence collected by our investigators is so mind boggling; we think winning this case will be a stroll in the park. Of course, it will be in the hands of the courts, but when our shareholders see what kind of evidence, we have of wrongdoing; we think they will surely agree."

In further developments, the WHA expects to soon announce details of scheduled National Alliance Cup play slated to begin on April 1st in Toronto, Ontario. In the National Alliance Cup, the Champions of The WHA, "The New Westminster Whalers" will be paying a series of games against the champion of the GMHL. The coach of the WHA Champion New Westminster Whalers is former NHL St. Louis Blues great, Gary Unger.

Posts: 40 Here's an observation from the hockey operations side of things.

It's been known in some circles that the WHA was interested in including expansion franchises in the USA, but this is the first time they've publicly declared making progress in that area

The only American Jr B league in that region is the Northern Pacific League (Norpac). They have numerous issues of their own, and this year, some of those situations could be putting the league's current composition into play.

Their entire Rocky Mountain Division --- with franchises in Helena, Bozeman, Billings, Butte, Cody (Wyoming) and Coeur d'Alene (Idaho) has given notice that they want to withdraw from Norpac, for the purpose of re-activating the dormant America West Jr A league (which would be Jr A in name only for a few seasons to come). Meanwhile, the league champion Fort Vancouver Pioneers are embroiled in accusations of paying players under the table (among other things) and their coach and general manager have accepted lifetime bans from USA Hockey after their run at the Jr Nationals has ended.

Those two gentleman live and breathe hockey, so it was a surprise to most that they willingly accepted such a drastic banishment. I've been hearing, though, that the Pioneers have been fed up with Norpac for quite some time and have made inquiries about jumping to the WHA since last summer. In that case, they've almost certainly tipped their hand that they've committed to playing in Ricky Smith's league next season.

Here's an article from the Columbian (based in Vancouver, Wa, across the river from Portland) that virtually says as much:

http://columbian.com/sports/localNew...news114735.cfm

The key passage: "One of the (options) is to continue being in NORPAC," Loftgren said. "But there's other options that we as an organization are exploring. At this time, I don't really want to comment on any of those ..."

This is of interest to stock speculators because if half of a league is looking to go their own way and a strong franchise in the other half wants to secede, it doesn't leave much of a league for the remaining teams.

A seasoned outfit like Ft Vancouver wouldn't be making such a bold move if it didn't know it had a strong possibility of other nearby teams moving with them. That's simple economic reality.

If this occurs, it would be a tremendous boost for the WHA, because it's far easier from a logistics point of view to absorb existing franchises than it is to activate expansion franchises. It would also excite any possible expansion group to know they're going to have established teams joining them.

And, referring back to the Rocky Mountain division's intentions, they have to wait for USA Hockey to sanction the revival of the America West league. If that doesn't happen, they could be prime candidates to flock to the WHA, too.

You can be sure the passage above has got the Pacific Northwest hockey community sitting up and taking notice of the WHA. It will be interesting to see how they respond.

The World Hockey Association Announces Expansion Into USA -- Four Teams Submit WHA Expansion Ownership Forms for the Washington State Area

Mar 22, 2007 3:15:00 PM VANCOUVER, BC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 03/22/07 -- The World Hockey Association (PINKSHEETS: WHKA) today confirmed that as a result of previously announced league expansion meetings held in Seattle, Washington last week, four US-based ownership groups have now submitted forms for WHA expansion franchises planned for Washington State in the USA.

League Commissioner Bobby Hull revealed that the four US teams will be coming from a combination of franchises which were previously a part of other leagues and newly established teams created specifically to play in the WHA.
WHKA CEO Ricky Smith commented, "Things are moving along faster and better than Bobby Hull and I had originally hoped. The Northwestern USA is a market in which the WHA has wanted a significant presence from the start. When the US ownership groups saw what the WHA had planned for our hockey league, they responded enthusiastically. We are now in the process of reviewing the applications and hope to be able to announce all four deals have been inked very shortly and announce the Washington State cities involved in the expansion."

Assuming the four new franchises are approved, the WHA will have now added five new teams to its fold. Earlier this week, league officials confirmed an Edmonton, Alberta-area WHA franchise had been created by an Edmonton investment group.

CEO Smith stated, "WHA blueprints ultimately call for the expansion to take the league from six to 16 teams for the 2007-2008 hockey season. It looks like we might be halfway there already. We couldn't be more pleased with our progress. Four or five years down the road, we think we will be in the driver's seat. When people think of Junior Hockey, we believe they will think of The World Hockey Association first and foremost.

SO, you're associating with a team that brought lawyers into an informal process- they would have been thrown out of NORPAC. USA Hockey still has their jury out on whether they will continue with this year's playoffs.

Associating with less than ethical people doesn't impress me... certainly not enough to buy stock.

I also agree with someone on the USA Junior Hockey board... other companies are strong enough that they can't be raided easily.

If this works out, cool. Heck, I'm a soccer fan, I have some affinity for professional development, and I think we all know USA Hockey leaves a lot to be desired. I'm not buying in to this one.

Before it's all over, the WHA might end up being Junior Hockey in the USA and Canada. I'm then going to look back on my .006 purchase of this stock and smile from ear to ear if that happens.

In the meantime, hockey will benefit.

WHA LANDS TWO MORE ALBERTA TEAMS! PLAY SCHEDULED FOR NATIONAL ALLIANCE CUP IN ONTARIO!

The World Hockey Association Snares Two More Teams in Alberta Province -- Also, League Commissioner Bobby Hull Releases National Alliance Cup Series Information

Mar 27, 2007 9:30:00 AM
VANCOUVER, BC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 03/27/07 -- The World Hockey Association (PINKSHEETS: WHKA) revealed today that two more ownership groups from the Canadian Province of Alberta have submitted WHA expansion franchise forms for teams planned to be included in the 2007-2008 WHA hockey season.

Assuming the two teams are approved by WHA officials, the league will have three new Alberta Province teams currently committed to play during the upcoming 2007-2008 season.

Earlier last week it was confirmed that an Edmonton area ownership group's team had been approved as the first Alberta franchise. At approximately the same time, WHA representatives announced it had received four new expansion form applications from a combination of new and existing teams from the USA in the Washington State area.

Officials stated that discussions are ongoing with additional prospective ownership groups in Alberta and British Columbia to complete the task of expanding the number of organizations under the umbrella of The World Hockey Association from six to sixteen teams.

In additional developments today, League Commissioner Bobby Hull released information on The National Alliance Cup Series slated for play this weekend. The series will find the WHA Champion New West Minster Whalers coached by former NHL St Louis Blues great Gary Unger challenging Ontario's GMHL Jr. A Champion, the Bradford Rattlers.

Last January, GMHL President Bob Russell announced the GMHL had affiliated with the World Hockey Association with the express intent of creating National Championship play in an East meets West format pitting the Champion of Ontario's GMHL against the Champion of British Columbia's WHA.

Plans call for the National Championship Alliance Cup to alternate each year between the GMHL's "eastern" Ontario location and one of the WHA's "western" locations of British Columbia, Alberta or Washington State in the USA.

This year, the series will be played in Ontario at the home rink of the Bradford Rattlers, Bob Fallis Arena. Game times are on Friday, March 30th at 4:00 PM, Saturday, March 31st, at 1:30 PM and Sunday, April 1st at 6:30 PM.

WHKA CEO Ricky Smith commented, "What can I say? Due to our much publicized problems with our former finance partners, many had counted us out. Negative press speculated quite wrongly that we may not even be able to finish our season. Now our detractors can see that not only are we not out, but the WHA is no longer even down. It is truly a testament to the quality of people we have involved in our organization that we are now successfully expanding the WHA to more than twice its previous size and at the same time, playing this exciting National Championship series against the Jr. A GMHL champion Bradford Rattlers."

Smith added, "I want to publicly thank Commissioner Bobby Hull and Coach Gary Unger as well as advisory board members Terry O'Reilly and Brad Park for all the hard work they put into this season to make the WHA the most talked about new hockey league in years. I am also very thankful for all the tireless effort put forth by the rest of our staff and volunteers. As the years pass, I am sure we will all be able to look back on the very tough and trying circumstances we faced as a blessing in disguise. It all prompted the WHA to stand up in the face of adversity and fight to win. We have shown who we are and we are not quitters. Just as we try to teach our young men to never quit on the ice, we have never quit in our commitment to give them a great hockey and life experience."

WHKA (.006) Receives Eighth and Ninth Expansion Franchise Forms -- Ownership Groups Representing Teams From British Columbia and Alberta Apply to Join WHA

Market Wire "US Press Releases "

VANCOUVER, BC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 03/28/07 -- The World Hockey Association (PINKSHEETS: WHKA) announced today that league officials have received expansion franchise forms from two additional ownership groups representing teams from the British Columbia and Alberta provinces of Canada.

League Commissioner Bobby Hull's office stated that a combined total of nine new and existing teams currently playing in other leagues have now submitted forms to join the WHA. The application tally currently contains four teams from Washington State in the USA, four teams from the Alberta Province of Canada, including the announced Edmonton area franchise, and one team from the British Columbia Province.

The WHA expansion effort ultimately should result in an expansion from six to sixteen teams for the 2007-2008 hockey season. Commissioner Hull recently revealed that the expansion will result in a restructured divisional format for the league once all the ownership groups for teams in the new cities have been approved. Discussions remain ongoing with additional investment groups who have shown interest in backing teams for the new season.

WHKA CEO Ricky Smith, commented, "Things are going according to plan. Bobby Hull and I have always envisioned the WHA will eventually cover the western half of Canada and the northwestern region of The United States. The reception we have received thus far puts our second year business plan for expansion on track to meet these goals. This is quite an accomplishment under the circumstances."

Smith added, "The league has suffered enormous damages which we expect to be addressed in court very soon, but we have forged ahead nevertheless. The WHA is here to stay and we believe our players, our shareholders, and our hockey fans will all benefit from what we are doing."

The World Hockey Association Hires Law Offices of Michael E. Kulwin in Nevada for Legal Defense and Counterclaim Against Nexus Asset Holdings, LLC and Global Developments, Inc.

Mar 30, 2007 8:30:00 AM
VANCOUVER, BC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 03/30/07 -- The World Hockey Association (PINKSHEETS: WHKA) today confirmed it has hired the Law Offices of Michael E. Kulwin in Nevada for its legal defense and upcoming counterclaim in US Federal Court against Nexus Asset Holdings LLC and Global Developments Inc.

On February 16, 2007, The World Hockey Association (WHA) was named as a defendant in a complaint filed in the United States District Court of Nevada by Nexus Asset Holdings, LLC (Nexus), and Global Development, Inc. (Global). The complaint alleges a wide variety of actions on the part of the WHA and William R. Smith, Robert M. Hull, and Peter Young, all directors of WHA Corp.

The WHA firmly believes that the allegations by Global and Nexus are without any merit. The WHA and the individual defendants, William R. Smith, Robert M. Hull, and Peter Young, will vigorously defend themselves. WHA has engaged the Law Offices of Michael E. Kulwin in Nevada for the express purpose of filing a defense and counter action against the plaintiffs as well as other individuals associated with the plaintiffs.

WHA CEO Ricky Smith stated, "I am not going to elaborate very much here. We are going to let our response and forthcoming counterclaim speak for itself. Shareholders can be assured that we are diligently at work on the resolving the issues concerning this matter."

Pink Sheets
The "Pink Sheets" is an electronic quotation system that displays quotes from*broker dealers*for many over-the-counter*(OTC) securities.* "Market makers" and other brokers who buy and sell OTC securities, can use the Pink Sheets to publish their bid and ask quotation prices.* The name "Pink Sheets" comes from the color of paper they*were historically* printed on. They are published today by Pink Sheets LLC, a privately owned company. Pink Sheets LLC is not registered with the SEC in any way and it is not an NASD Broker-Dealer.
The Pink Sheets does not require companies whose securities are quoted upon its systems to meet any listing requirements. With the exception of a few foreign issuers, the companies quoted in the*Pink*Sheets tend to be*closely held, extremely small and/or thinly traded. Most do not meet the minimum listing requirements for trading on a national securities exchange, such as the New York Stock Exchange or the Nasdaq Stock Market.* Many of these companies do not file periodic reports or audited financial statements with the SEC, making it*very difficult for investors to find reliable, unbiased information about those companies.* For all of these reasons, companies quoted in the*Pink*Sheets can be among the most risky investments. That's why you should take extra care to thoroughly research any company quoted exclusively in the Pink Sheets.* Be aware that some broker-dealers are required by Rule 15c2-11 under the 1934 Act to have some information about the issuer. A little something to think about in all this.

That is one of the reasons the WHA is suing John D Briner. They have been saying all along that Briner and his Briner Group authorized all of that illegal spam and this resulted in the quotes being shut down at pinksheets. The lawsuit is supposed to cover all of that.

World Hockey Association Adds New Franchise in British Columbia -- Now Two New Franchises Approved for Play in 2007-2008 Season

Apr 10, 2007 9:30:00 AM
VANCOUVER, BC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 04/10/07 -- The World Hockey Association (PINKSHEETS: WHKA) announced today that league officials had approved another franchise for entry into the WHA for the 2007-2008 hockey season. This latest WHA entry, slated for a city in British Columbia, will join the recently announced Edmonton, Alberta area organization as the second new franchise to officially join the WHA as part of next season's planned expansion to sixteen teams.

League President Ricky Smith's office revealed the latest franchise sale was made to an independent ownership group which had identified a city in British Columbia with an excellent ice arena. The group had assured the WHA its planned franchise would be ready to commence play this coming season. The name of the ownership group, the team name and its location will be announced at a press conference at the end of April.

Smith's office stated that a combined total of nine new and existing teams currently playing in other leagues had to date submitted forms to join the WHA. Omitting the two teams which have now been approved for play, the application tally still contains four teams from Washington State in the USA, and three teams from the Alberta Province of Canada awaiting approval. Decisions are expected shortly regarding the remaining seven applications.

Smith's office reconfirmed that negotiations continue with additional ownership groups who have expressed an interest in joining the WHA, but who have not yet submitted franchise applications.

The WHA had recently revealed the expansion will result in a restructured divisional format for the league once all the ownership groups for teams in the new cities have been approved.

About the World Hockey Association:

The World Hockey Association created the WHA Hockey League to promote the sport of hockey. The WHA Hockey League is the successful combination of hockey and education & will create opportunities for the talented student athletes 15-20 years of age to showcase their skills in a highly competitive environment.

The WHA is staffed and operated by committed career professionals and hockey legends such as WHA League Commissioner Bobby Hull, Managing Director of Hockey Operations, Butch Goring, Head Coach and General Manager of the 2006-2007 WHA Season Champion New West Minster Whalers, Garry Unger and WHA Advisory Board Members Brad Park and Terry O'Reilly.

The single most important element of the WHA is the successful combination of hockey and education. Players in the WHA are expected to treat their academic education as a priority equal to their athletic development. Each team is expected to combine a high level of competition with a commitment to education.

With a schedule of more than 50 games, practice time, off-ice conditioning and public appearances, players should be well prepared for their next level of hockey, whether it is at the college, university, or professional level.

The 2007-2008 season will feature a transformation to Junior A Hockey and a significant expansion. The result will find the WHA firmly established in British Columbia, Alberta, Quebec and the Northwestern United States.

Philosophy of the WHA Junior Hockey League

The WHA Junior A Hockey League is expected to become the pinnacle of the skill development program. WHA Junior Hockey is for players who seek a greater or difficult challenge than that which might be available through their, high school varsity or club team, area midget or other junior teams.

The principal purpose of the WHA junior development program is to prepare the athlete for career advancement either in a collegiate or professional opportunity. This objective can be accomplished by virtue of the following:
1) By providing considerable training time and quality coaching.
2) By providing players with a healthy, constructive environment
in which to develop socially.
3) By providing assistance and opportunities for the accomplishment
of the participant's educational goals.

In short, the WHA works to provide players with exposure to collegiate recruiters and professional scouts, and to encourage educational advancement.

I was wondering why we haven't heard anything from the WHA lately.

http://www.fortvancouver-pioneers.com/

I'm not going to dredge up all the stories about Fort Vancouver's cheating last year, but it strikes me funny that they bailed on this.

Since the WHA site registers as spam on my firewall, I can't get too many more details, but it appears the Edmonton team is playing amongst 5 mainland small BC towns... and a Vancouver team playing in a rec rink in Burnaby.

This league has been full of problems since day one. Last season on another board there would be a thread much like the ABA board here with a he said/she said argument about the league. Unlike here, the mods would periodically delete the thread and discussion would die for a day or so and then it started up again. Eventually, I think the mods either banned or told them to stop and it disappeared.

From what I know of the WHA this season, it sounds like things are on an ever so slightly better footing. As a league, the WHA is on more solid footing, but Fort Vancouver was not. Last I heard they had folded or were kicked out of the league (sounds familiar to the ABA followers hey?) However, the other teams seem to be doing fine.

The one problem I'm surprised hasn't cropped up from my very cursory search is that the city of Hartford, the NHL and the Los Angeles Kings have not gone after the league for trademark infringement. If you go to their official site (http://www.officialwha.com/) you will notice that they are using the LA Kings logo to represent the Barrhead River Kings, which may be alright since the Saskatoon Royals of the NSJHL and now the PJHL have been using the Kings' logos for many years.

However, they are using the last Hartford Whalers logo for the Vancouver Whalers logo. Even the NHL can't use or sell merchandise with the Hartford Whalers logo. In previous years the WHA has used the New England Whalers logo, to which they own the rights, as a logo for the various Whalers teams. This year they went with the last Whalers logo before the move to Carolina, which belongs to the city of Hartford. I'm assuming the city didn't license the Whalers logo to the WHA, unless its some sort of vindictive strike against the NHL. Either way since Hartford is so protective of the logo, I'm surprised they haven't launched a law suit against the league.

I'm wondering what the Greater Metro Junior Hockey League (in Ontario) thinks about this mess? Since the WHA and GMHL are members of the National Junior Hockey Alliance (as Hockey Canada considers them rebel leagues), if the WHA goes under that leaves the GMHL out on its own. I'm thinking that since they were branded as a rebel league, they won't have the designation removed if the WHA died.

Overall, the concept is interesting with junior aged hockey being expanded by a year on one end to allow 15 year olds and expanded 3 (only 2 in some provinces) years to 23 on the other end. It allows players to play earlier and extend their careers. However, I'm guessing most 23 year olds would only play in this league if they were unable to crack a NCAA, ACHA, CIS or ACAC team. In other words, they would have to be pretty bad to have to keep playing in junior, past 20/21. But I won't knock someone who plays for pure love of the game, as this league must be higher caliber than playing senior men's beer league hockey.

I wonder if the WHA is still thinking pro? I remember this league was to be the feeder league (along with the traditional leagues) for a pro league. In other words, the idea was you'd start in the WHA Junior West League (or the Eastern league if it ever gets going), age out of that league at 23 and move into the WHA's minor league (WHA2 sort of idea), hone your skills for a year or two and by 25 be playing in the WHA. The idea for each level would be the cities would be bigger. The Junior West League would play in small towns like Barrhead, Alberta, the minor league in places like Red Deer and Lethbridge and the WHA would be in places like Winnipeg, Hamilton and Saskatoon.
