Did I miss the big news that was supposed to be announced after the Meetings a couple of weeks ago? Is Dick too busy or did his plan not
work out like he wanted it to? If anyone knows please fill me in.:(

Care to elaborate? Care to PM?

If it's what I've heard elsewhere (name change), that's usually something not announced until after the season.

The below text is taken from the following blog's Feb. 8 entry:

Brosal said that the league isn't about to fold now or in the future and he expects to make a major announcement about the direction of the UHL soon, perhaps by the end of the month after the Board of Governors resumes its semi-annual meetings Feb. 20 in Detroit.

So what's the big news? Could it be the addition of a new city like Indianapolis? That's been a hot rumor since October, when Brosal said the league hoped to add a major midwestern city.

"It could be," he said about the addition of a new city. "It could also be the opposite, making the foundation stronger as a true regional, midwestern league. We're moving forward. We're going to have an announcement within the next 30 days that will put all speculation and rumors by the wayside.

"There are some good things I've been working on with a committee for over a year now. I expect some very, very, very positive news regarding the strength of the league and moving foward."

I've got a paper that entitles you to a bridge in Brooklyn. It's not coming.

I too am waiting to hear the news. There was an article in the Peoria paper where the local hockey beat writer said that the ECHL was going to offer the UHL teams (don't know if it is all of them) a reduced entry fee to join the league.

I can't see the ECHL taking Flint, Port Huron and Chicago because of poor attendance. The Elimra team would be a good placement in the division with Johnstown, Reading, Toledo, Dayton, Wheeling, Trenton and Cincinnati (if they survive - low attendence).

I could see Ft. Wayne, Bloomington (was almost an ECHL team), Kalamazoo, Muskegon and Quad City joining the league.

Any thoughts???
