THUNDER GO UNDER already?

What's up with the Frisco Thunder? The webpage looks good and like they are real but then looks are deceiving I guess. There is no way to get ticket information, there is no roster, there is no activity. (the pulse is very faint and I'm not sure then even Dr McCoy can help if it gets any fainter). It says that there is just over a month to go before the season opener and well you've gotta as "DID THE THUNDER JUST QUIETLY GO UNDER?"

Who would purchase season tickets for the Thunder if it looks like you might have trouble getting any of your money back should they not make the whole season. I'm not so sure these guys will even make that first flight to Alaska..

Well this league is certainly doomed to fail again if it cannot keep the excitement and organizations all in line and moving forward, wow sorta like a team. but this team is in need of some disclipline and focus from what I see so far.

I was sorta looking forward to this alternative happenning in the Dallas area but just don't know. Anyone know something bout this?

There has been some talk of this for about a month or so I hope they happen but they might be in trouble,players who attended the tryout didn't get a call back not even one was good enough to sign for training camp.But there is also talk of them waiting to try and sign released AFL players but that is a reach in most cases guess we will have to wait a few more weeks to see.

The clock is ticking if they are going with that (lame) game plan. Are these guys aware this is "FOOTBALL" we're talking about here? You hire a COACH. At this point probably any COACH would do, then he picks the best of what's available to him and then he puts it all together and end result is a team right? And if he can't do it the GM fires him, and if he can do it then we call him a GOOD COACH. Nobody wants to hear any excuses just pick your but up and do the best you can with what you got. The bigger the wall the harder you gotta climb. It is football right? SOMEBODY GOTTA STEP UP.. WHERE THE LEADER HERE?

Let me see if I can shed a bit of optimistic light...now I don't know all that's going on, but here's some of what I do know.

Frisco does have a coach, he's the former DC in Corpus, so he has indoor football ties. They've already signed a pretty good QB, Dustin Almond, former Southern Miss signal caller. They also signed Jamar Toombes, former Texas A&M running back, but he is now deciding between Frisco and making an AF2 squad.

As far as the franchise, the IFL had a sales status meeting the other day, and all teams (as long as they're not lying to the other owners) are doing very well with their numbers...especially Alaska.

And I know for a fact that the Frisco owner cut a very large check to the IFL front office that took care of the remainder of the franchise fee, so that has now been paid in full.

In other words, despite players not getting a "call-back" and not alot of news, it does appear the team is doing fine, if not very well.

Toombs would be a good pick up he has arena experience. I have seen there roster on the IFL website and it is half of all the other teams. What do we know about these two QB's they have signed. Obviously Almond is a big name but he got cut for not being able to take a snap. Does he have any arena experience. And I dont even know the other guy they have. Let me know what everyone thinks.

I don't think there is any league rule about having to post your roster on a website...so that doesn't mean they don't have players. Guess we'll find out in a few weeks...

Just googled the other QB's name and he has some arena ties. So will we play with almond or him.

Frisco just signed a slew of tallent this week. It should be posted on the transactions page soon.

Yeah I would say they are headed the wrong way. Last year was the thing. Coach King was going to run the team last year. He was with the Ft. Worth Sixers of the NIFL, but they just let him go last week. And the Sixers want be playing this year. Also Toombs is not playing with the Thunder he is playing with the Bossier-Shreveport Battlewings (AF2) check their roster. I live in the Dallas area and their is no talk of the Thunder here. You hear more about the Ft. Worth Regulators that are playing in the APFL than the Thunder.
