Cool Site!

Man I miss the Steelies. I am wondering what kinds of differences there are going to be when we enter USBL play? I mean there is nothing to do around here in the winter, but the summer, man I gots stuff to do.

Are the players going to be any good? Who coaches? Do they use three refs or two? Can they play/coach/ref anywhere close to the CBA guys?

Speaking of refs, how come the only guys who can ref in the CBA are the white boys? Can't they find a brotha anywhere? Not only that, the white dudes will pay attention to Da Swamp and mess with Steelie and have fun. The brothas just screw stuff up and then act all hard and act like they don't even enjoy being out there.

What about the players? Man I miss messing with guys like Opie Taylor who used to play for Dakota and the light skin freckeled guy. It was so much fun heckling those guys. Hope we can some funny characters like that again.

Who coaches in this league? Is it like some local high school guy or what? Do CBA coaches coach in this league or do the seasons overlap?

I tell you what, we should have had a championship and the way the season ended left a bad taste in my mouth. We came home with two chanced to win it all and we gave it away. We came back in Game 3 and had the ball with the chance to win it late and we just gave it away. We were way down and came back to tie it and had the ball. I was thinking that everything was perfect, we had our best team on the floor, no foul trouble, the best two refs, the best point guard in the league bringing the ball up, the crowd was off the hook and then boom, turnovers and bad shots and we not only lose but we leave the league.

I am not expecting much, but we will represent.

Finally, someone from Da' Swamp has arrived on this message board. I'm from Da' Shore (that means we act dry at games 8)), except we don't wear cool t-shirts to identify ourselves. Check-out the link below from this same site. Many of your questions will be answered:

I agree. There's nothing to do now in Gary during the winter, but I can find lots to do in the warmer months. I hope minor league hockey comes to Gary to fill the void. People come to Gary in droves for baseball, they will come to Gary in droves for hockey.

The quality of play should be the same as the old CBA--the CBA the Gary Steelheads were once in. Many of the same players are returning. This new version of the CBA (without the Steelheads) hasn't had a single NBA call-up. Cliff Levingston, Jaren Jackson's assistant from last season, will be the new Steelie coach.

Other than that, the USBL is a new experience for me too.
