Let us look at the picture from another side. Joe owes Rochester money...Rochester not going to Brooklyn. Joe owes Hollywood money..Hollywood not going to Tijuana. Joe owes Buffalo money..Buffalo ends season early will not do any more road games. Joe owes Minneapolis money..Minneapolis will not go to road games. Joe owes Maryland money..Maryland to end season early. Let me call some more teams Monday and see,. I would have had more but calling Richmond, Newark,Chicago, Knoxville, and Miami today were dead-ends since these teams had disconnected numbers or no one answered.
I believe there are really ONLY about 12 - 16 viable teams out there. Joe has again given basketball a punch in the eye. Joe will blame this on the internal turmoil of the board fight but anyone with intelligence will see this has been an ongoing problem the past few years, games cancelled and teams folding all becuase of Joe and no one else.

a1sports.... This is the business plan of ole joes....find gullible people that will write you a check that doesn't bounce, cash it, find another fish. If the team makes money, raise their annual fees to remain in the "League". If they fold? So what! The check cashed months ago. He has moved onto new prospective chumps...er owners.
He preys on the diverse Walter Mitty's of the sports world and sells them the moon. As long as this business model works he is in the money! He does not care!
I started following the ABA (new) when I hear it was coming back. The sad truth is, the worst franchise from the 70's was at least honest about their shared troubles. We knew the end was near for the Utah Stars (of the ABA) The Sharman (sic) Family was honest to the press and their fans. There was a collective sadness in the community, we all knew the team had done it's best to survive. It would take 10 years before someone else would take the chance again in SLC. But even then the risk was known to everyone and the lean sports team budget was set before the team was announced. The Utah Jazz were built on a fan base that took a chance and bought tickets. The community was the deciding factor in the success of the NBA franchise.
Ole Joe doesn't need a community, only a bank account. His problem is he was talked into going public with an IPO, the day it was offered, he lost all control in this ponzi scam. Now he is reaping what he has been sowing for years.
