COMETS SCHEDULE CHANGE ...

HOME GAME THIS SATURDAY, FEB 24th HAS BEEN CANCELLED. BROOKLYN TO FINISH REGULAR SEASON ON THE ROAD.

The Comets are announcing that this Saturday's Home Game versus the Rochester Razorsharks has been cancelled. In addition, the March 9th Home game versus Rochester has also been cancelled. We apologize for this inconvenience but the situation is beyond our control. Rochester is refusing to travel to Brooklyn to play the scheduled games.

The franchise is talking with the ABA about being awarded forfeited wins due to Rochester's refusal to play.

As a result, the Comets will finish the Regular Season on the road with three games:

Wednesday, February 28th @ Newark (7:05)
Saturday, March 3rd @ Cape Cod (7:05)
Saturday, March 10th @ Strong Island (7:05)

We thank you for your understanding and press on with our quest to make the ABA Playoffs!

This is rubbish. This wouldn't be happening if the ABA had some true leadership and integrity. Obviously, Joe Newman is going to make this personal and Brad Hester has no authority in his position. Way to go everybody. Way to bring the fight down to the teams and cause a civil war! All these games you keep losing. No one is thinking anything out ...

maybe this explains why up here in Buffalo looks like were done playin the reg season and waiting for the playoffs, i think we might be close with Rochester and their doings since we are very close to each other and maybe the owners became close and look at things the same way, maybe this is why for some reason were not going to play Strong Island on March 3rd

perhaps its because Brooklyn missed road games at Rochester while they were folded. So Rochester feels no obligation to go to Brooklyn?? Not nice but somewhat entirely within their right.

All this hubbub about Rochester not playing anymore road games is probably false. They probably just won't go to Brooklyn, new ownership or not.

"Going back to Brooklyn, to Brooklyn, to Brooklyn,
Going back to Brooklyn, I don't think so."

From a song from an old HBO comedy special by Colin Quinn.

Why doesn't the Peoria paper cover this? I mean-shoot, anything the UIF did would be blasted the last 2 summers, now we get an ABA team, and now...
