Jus got back from the 'Backs game defeating Detroit 116-102 at a packed house at the small Park School, with the max occupancy at 300, id say there was a lil more than 300, it was a tight squeeze! But with a playoff home game most likely in the near future, it looks like they may be returning back to Buffalo State college arena that sits 3200, and maybe the media will pick up on this and put more effort and the 'Backs put more effort into advertising, so theyre might be a good size crowd that game, plus the last 2 games have attracted more than 500 new Silverback fans that enjoyed the games!

Not a bad crowd considering the always intense Senators v. Sabres match up was taking place in downtown Buffalo and on television. Detroit is a pretty solid team, so it's another good result for Buffalo.

where they played tonite can only hold 300-350 but id say it was pushin 400, another, loud, exciting game, great exposure, new fans had fun and got into, between the last 2 games theres been 600-800 new Silverbacks fans that like what they saw! might be a good turn out for the playoff game!

Buffalo Silverbacks Win Fifth in a Row
02/22/07

Buffalo, NY - On a roll, the Buffalo Silverbacks defeated the Detroit Panthers 116-102 Thursday night. This is the Silverbacks 5th straight win and closes out their regular season schedule.

Antoine Sims led the Silverbacks with 38 points. Kueth Duany added 21 points, Lamar Castile 19 and Marlin Johnson 16. Keith "Boss" Closs was only 3 points shy of a triple double, scoring 7 points, 14 rebounds and 11 monster blocks.

Buffalo is eagerly awaiting the release of the new power rankings for the ABA playoffs. Before defeating Vermont (ranked 1st in the league with a 25-5 record) and Detroit (ranked 10th with a 14-10 record) Buffalo was ranked 17th.

After viewing this press release and checking the Silverbacks schedule page on their website http://www.buffalosilverbacks.com/schedule/ ...

It looks like they have wrapped up their regular season with a 14-10 record.

I'm confused ... Is there not 2 weeks left in the season to play games???

According to the schedule we have and also that on the Sound website, Buffalo is supposed to play at Strong Island on March 3. Wonder if they've told the Sound they're done with the regular season.

Also, anyone else see this from the Brooklyn Comets:

The Comets are announcing that this Saturday's Home Game versus the Rochester Razorsharks has been cancelled. In addition, the March 9th Home game versus Rochester has also been cancelled. We apologize for this inconvenience but the situation is beyond our control. Rochester is refusing to travel to Brooklyn to play the scheduled games. The franchise is talking with the ABA about being awarded forfeited wins due to Rochester's refusal to play. As a result, the Comets will finish the Regular Season on the road with three games:
Wednesday, February 28th @ Newark (7:05)
Saturday, March 3rd @ Cape Cod (7:05)
Saturday, March 10th @ Strong Island (7:05)
We thank you for your understanding and press on with our quest to make the ABA Playoffs!

ive confused too, i kno yestaday they said at the game this was the last home game of the year, until playoffs, so i no theres no more home regular season games left, but on the road, idk, ill see if i can get an answer from some people ino in the organization, we've had alot of cancelled games due to teams folding, im surprised more werent made up, 6 games alone were cancelled against Toledo, and i think Montreal cancelled 2 and Brooklyn one, thats 9 games right there lol and that one against the sound on mar3 that was on the 'Backs website till like 2 days ago so count that and thats 10 games rite there which wouldve resulting in finishing the season playing 34 games but due to teams folding etc.. those games were never made up, so ill ask around and ill get back to you guys bout this
