I thought 'Chuck the Writer' might could use some additional ABA expansion teams to choose from???

The only city I know that actually exists is Shamokin, Pa. The others have to be made up. I mean, come on, Murder Bay, D.C.?? D.C. is not a state.

How about Hooker, Okla., and Funk, Neb. (A company used to make baseball hats for the fictitious Hooker Harlots, it had a baseball with a pair of female legs wearing a garter kipped over it).

Actually, Belchertown, MA is a real city as well. (I know because some friends of the family used to live there)

We've also got a town here in Vermont called Bread Loaf..How about the Bread Load Slicers?

psbf

ok, there are some real towns on that list and maybe it is a legitimate one. But it reads far fetched, to me. I need some proof that it is a real one.

Well, here's a map of Bread Loaf. I think Fells can back me up on this as well.

http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?formtype=address&country=US&city=bread+loaf&state=vt

Zoom in a little to get the town name to show up.

I have no doubt that the certain towns exist. What I want is proof that they are in line for a new team. btw, Bread Loaf is not on the above list.

I don't believe that any of the towns listed by the OP are going to get an expansion franchise. I simply added Bread Loaf because it is an unsusual name for a town, like most of the names on that list. I don't think Vermont could support any more than 1 ABA team.

You are very correct ... But I will go ahead and add Breadloaf, Vermont to the list for a future ABA market reservation consideration

Joe's from Indiana, so there are two Indiana teams I would propose:

Santa Claus Reindeers
Munster Hermans

Wanker's Corner:

http://www.wankerscorner.com/

I was going to say that it was closer to Lake Oswego (where all the rich farts in Oregon congregate), but Wilsonville's expansion seems to have taken its toll.

Apparently, it's world-famous. Someone associated with the NASL Timbers, an English ex-pat, still ferries folks from his homeland through that area when he brings them from the Portland Airport to his Salem home. Get's 'em every time.

Oregon has a Riddle, a Lookingglass, and how could I forget BORING! There's also a ghost town called Horse Heaven, FWIW.

Me, challenged, Sam? You know, as well as I do, that anything on here can be suspicious, which is why I questioned it. Honestly, I'm surprised that you were not skeptical as well.

psbf, the initial post was meant as a joke. He was just listing some cities with funny names.

How can we leave out Hell, Michigan? Once things get too tough there, they can always move 340 miles north to Paradise:

Don't forget about Intercourse, PA.

Bird-in-Hand and Paradise would be their arch rivals

Thanks, Preeths, I wasn't sure.
Ah yes, Paradise-a perfect match:)

The Sauk Valley Rollers should move here

www.ci.weed.ca.us/

That would make them the Weed Rollers

It was obvious to me within eight seconds that The Magician was pulling our legs. Honestly, I'm surprised it took you longer than that.

Well, maybe not.

Of all the expansion teams mentioned in this thread ...

Which ones do you feel will become model ABA organizations in 2007-2008.

I mean ... Having nearly 70 teams next season ... You must have some teams who will make the grade, right?

psbf
03-29-2007, 02:09 AM
the ABA, you'd have 70 going into the season, but what's your guess as to how many will be secure? Maybe half? Then how many will survive the season?
