Joe brags about how 60% of ABA teams are owned by minorities. Any connection with this stat and the failure rate of these minority owned teams? I'm in no way being racist or insenstitve. Just trying to work the numbers of successes and failures. It seems if you have a few extra dollars in your check book, and your black, hispanic, female, or 2 out of 3, a franchise is all yours. Until the money dries up and your out on your perverbial black, hispanic or female ass. At least 10 teams have disappeared this year..........yet here come some more for next year. Can there possibly be this many gullible chumps out there?

There are plenty of other very good minorities involved with the league out there (The RazorSharks owner for instance, I think he's Asian-American)

This isn't about ethnicities...It's about integrity.

(Newman would probably pull a big insult out of his bag if you sent it to him, though)

If you wished Joe Happy Birthday, he'd insult you.

It's funny how the entire premise of the USA is that we're all equal, yet the ABA makes a point of calling out minority owners. If we're all equal, why are there African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, Asian-Americans, and so on? Why aren't we just Americans? Immigrants cry over rights, but when something can be played to their advantage, here comes the hyphenated American title.

WHAFAN That comment just should get you a nod in the civil rights hall of fame. because what you are talking about is the goal of civil rights in every aspect. I believe in certain areas it has been achieved but in others it has not, In fact there are some areas that I believe it has outgrown its usefulness and become an instrument of reverse descrimination. In either case cudos and recognition for the wisdom to make the comment is the best anyone can do. Thank you for being what I would call an American.

2 bits of cheese in the melting pot.

the problem is that Joe finds gullible people in general ... no matter of race or sex. There is only one team ... the Heat Wave ... who were around for the start of this league. And they moved this year. All the rest are one-year or two-year wonders. Look at the annual turnover. There are a few exceptions like the Marylands, Rochesters, Texas and Vermonts who might stick around for a few years, but all of the others keep being reincarnations of previous teams that have failed miserably. This is just a vicious cycle. Joe convinces these people that they can make a buck and then he lines his pockets. Unfortunately, minorities and women make easy prey as Joe is a great sweet talker, I'm sure.

I agree that race doesn't matter. It is great to give opportunities, but some of these people just don't know what they're getting into.

That was one of the best comments I have seen on this board. Thank you for having an open mind and seeing that people are people, regardless of race. Hey man, we all bleed the same color.

Hey man, we all bleed the same color.

Not Joe.

Joe doesn't bleed.

That red stuff? That's not blood. I don't care what the blogs and the websites are saying. It's not blood. In fact, he's going to announce an expansion of his cardiovascular system, it's doing THAT well.

Oh I think it racial in my opinion.
Let's look at the scam.

White guy sells vaporware league dreams to diversity owners for what ever they can raise in the form of a team reservation (non refundable), then lets it fail as he has moved onto another victim. The prey he seeks is those he can convience that it will make them millions for a small investment. He sells the dream of something for almost nothing and then walks away once the check clears. Call it what it is , a pyramid scheme to defraud investors , owners, players, vendors and city coffers. This guy has no shame and the terrible truth is he does not care!
Remember our troops, jack and cheryl.

BTW Hey Joe where are my Utah Dream Tickets?
