Can anyone confirm or deny the ceasing of operations by the Sacramento Heatwave?

Last game played 01/11/07 ...

They have an official ABA scheduled game for this afternoon, Sunday 02/11/07 @ Maywood

Heatwave: http://www.allprosoftware.net/abaschedule/aplsteam7.htm

Are they going to be Maywood's opponent ... or has another team been scheduled to take their place ... or ... will there be no game at all?

Wow, my wonderful ABA Excel spreadsheet is receiving more and more XXX marks.

I might go to the game today in Maywood. I hesitate to do it, because the last time I went, the game was cancelled and there was no explanation. If I go, I'll let everyone know what happened....

Better contact the team first, if you decide to go, so you have an idea of what to expect. Better safe than sorry, as I always say.

The Buzz apparently do not have an office that sells advance tickets, group sales or season tickets. They are apparently run out of Burrell Lee's briefcase. I went to the Maywood Rec center to see if the was an office once and I was told it was "cash at the door." It's not that far from my house, so if I go, I will combine going to the game/seeing if there is a game with some other things I have to do this afternoon. The game starts at 4. Allegedly.

I checked their schedule and the Buzz lost at home, to Hollywood, 120-119 on Friday night, so you should be ok. The Buzz don't have much of a website, aside from links to their schedule and roster and a picture of the team and a message saying expect something soon. Hopefully, more will be coming soon.

I'm sure more will be coming soon, like the end of their season next month. psbf, the issue isn't that the Buzz has no front office, the issue is that that their opponent tonight hasn't played a game in about a month. Between the Buzz' shakey history and their opponent's not playing in a month, I don't think things are OK.

Well, things weren't OK. I got to the Maywood Rec Center at 3:39 and the lot was almost empty. I went inside and this time, I saw two pickup games going on. I spoke with an employee of the rec center and they said the Buzz cancelled at the last minute. This is the second time I've gone to the Maywood Rec Center and a game has been cancelled with no explanation. I noticed this time there was a banner over the door put there by the Buzz that had a phone number and said that "Games on Weekends." I guess not this weekend.

I have a feeling that the cause of the cancellation was the demise of the Sacramento Heatwave, but once again, they could have someone in the lobby offering tickets to a future game for taking the trouble to show up to see their team.

We could say ... that the Sacramento Heatwave are finished for the season!

"Way to go Joe!"

We sure can see the results from those franchises being helped on an "everyday" basis ...

[boing, I'm sorry that you had to endure another 'cancellation' ... ]

The Sacramento Heatwave are back in action ...

Two wins this past weekend over the Big Valley Shockwave.

Sat. 02/10, 123 : 108 and Sun. 02/11, 100 : 96

Hey, I guess it's good games are being played ... except for the game in Maywood.
