ABA TO ADD SECOND TEAM IN MINNESOTA NEXT SEASON
09-Feb-2007
Indianapolis, IN -- The American Basketball Association announced that it will add a second team in Minnesota when a team in Rochester MN begins play next season.
According to Joe Newman, ABA CEO, "We decided to make the official announcement because of the tremendous response from the press and media in Rochester when they learned of the news. It is tough to keep a secret. We are delighted to be going to Rochester. The Minnesota Ripknees have one of our best teams this year and having a regional opponent will certainly benefit them and the ABA. Our north central division is really shaping up."
"The owners of the new Rochester team are planning a major press conference very shortly," Newman added. "And they have asked me not to divulge any additional information so that they can present it properly at the press conference. I have seen their plans; this is a very strong group with a lot of experience and they appear to be doing everything right. And from all of the calls and emails we've received since word leaked out, the team will have very strong community and media support. We are pleased."
For more information please email rochester_aba@yahoo.com.
But Joe's still claiming to be ABA CEO on this one.
And I see Rochester isn't on OSC yet. (If you don't add them, I understand)
So, is Rochester in or not?
