How does the pitching and hitting in the Winter league compare to the Summer teams? There seems to be alot of pitching information and not much on the batting. Where are the individual stats located?

I went down there for a couple of games at the beginning of the winter league season.
The games are fun and a great way to spend a day with double headers played each day. They are extremely competitive. Many of the players are hoping to get a shot at spring training with their respective teams and make the regular season roster so they play extremely hard.
Our new field manager, Papo Davila is down there coaching our winter league team and scouting players.

I have been to several. Several players have potentional, others -- no way even to make independent ball. One of the staff members said none of the players get paid and in fact most had to pay up to $2000 (plus living expenses if from out of town) to participate.

Yes, some of the players down there are paying to play. They wanted to come out and see if they could show some talent and make the regular season teams. Some definitely have a shot at it. Some are paying to play just for the enjoyment. Some are winter Texans wanting to have some fun playing baseball.
