Of course, I voted for Posh... but even that's a lie. I don't JUST want to see her. I won't rest until Paris Hilton wraps her arm around Nate Jaqua! :D (Would I really wish that on Nate? Hmmm...)

MLS does not need a savior. They need 3-24 sparks. Spice Boy counts for 1. If he actually helps the Galaxy on the pitch, that's at least one more.

If one of the South Americans being signed by DC United turns out OK, and gets noticed in the media in the process, the Beckham spark creates a much bigger spark. If you hear about Josmer Altidore with Red Bulls this year, the spark was worth it.

This could go south; but what DC is doing tells me that there's now enough diversity in thinking among MLS GMs (as opposed to the belief that all decisions are made by "central casting") that any problems caused by this CAN be solved.

I was looking at the Wizards site today. Tickets for games this season are $16 and $20. Tickets for home games against LA are $35.
Beckham didn't even start for Real Madrid this season. I know the Royals jack up ticket prices for the St. Louis series, but the Cardinals are good. LA was 11-15-6 last year, and DIDN'T MAKE THE PLAYOFFS!

The entire league made that decision, and "Becks tix" in all markets are jacked up. Don't just be PO'd at the Wizards.

Well I supposed at least they got Arrowhead back. It would really suck to pay $35 to watch them play in a HS stadium like they were proposing (and which still may happen next year).

My guess -- Bannister Mall area is where the new soccer-specific stadium is going.

I'm excited about Beckham coming to the MLS, MLS is headed in the right direction and I think we'll see a GOOD spotlight on the league.
