I have read some recent news clips on some of these indoor teams? When are they gonna stop calling it Arena football? I know its not that big of deal but they are misleading people and should start giving indoor football its own credit. Are these teams giving the news papers the wrong idea and telling them that it is arena football? IT is played in a arena but its differnt?

CIFL teams are not giving misreading information. It is a common misconception, and one that I have made sure anyone reporting on the CIFL as arena football knows about.

It's the same difference between Kleenex and facial tissue. One is a trademarked name for something, the other is the basic description of what it is. The problem with it (indoor football) being reported as Arena Football, is mostly the media's fault. True, there are a few teams that either let it happen, or did it deliberately, but for the most part, the media call it Arena Football, because that's the term they know and may not be aware that it's taboo to use.
I know for instance, the TV commercial for the Steubenville Stampede mentioned Arena Football. Since WTOV ran it, I'm not sure if they called it that to tie into the fact they aired the AFL, whether the guy doing the spot simply took a liberty of calling it that, or whether that's what the team told them to do.

I am not conplaining about it in anyway. I just think it is about time that the indoor football leagues start getting credit for what it is and not have to be looked at like its cousin the arena football league if that makes sence..... I know it is easy to identify (sorry for the spelling) with indoor football by calling it arena football but If i owned a indoor team that was being refered to as arena football I would want it fixed in a hurry.
