Last year, we at the High Desert Mavericks had the dubious honor of having Tim Blackwell as our Manager. I strongly feel that this was a BIG mistake by the Milwaukee Brewers management. Due to this persons (dubious) management of our team we managed a team record for the 2003 year of 42-98. It is my considered opinion that there is NO WAY for 10 professional caliber players to manage this piss-poor of a team record without outside help (even in A ball). Actually, the players (on an individual basis) did an admirable job. While we were victims of a triple play in one game last year, we got them back in the next game or the one thereafter. Being waved in from 1st base to home while the ball was in the air is not the players fault. And who was coaching at third? Well, Tim, of course. My father and I both think this guy is an idiot. He managed here at High Desert in 1995, and he was an idiot then, too. Well, maybe idiot is too pessimistic, he may have been only an imbicile.
So, does anyone know exactly where Tim Blackwell went? I need to know this information so I can warn the next victims of this persons ineptitude.
Many members of the Stadium Staff felt that last year was the worst season that any of us had ever experienced. As the Mavericks were the 7th worst of about 140 minor league teams, and we were used to being a lot higher than that, it was really bad. We are looking forward to a much better season under the steady hand of Mel Queen this year.
