So there's about twelve different guys in the league that currently constitute consideration as a "rookie of the year" candidate. Alphabetically, they are:
Miguel Ali Berdiel (6'6 forward, Valparaiso '06, Utah Eagles)
Will Caudle (6'9 forward, Xavier '06, Indiana Alley Cats)
Anton Currie (6'8 forward, Toledo '06, Indiana Alley Cats)
Lewis Fadipe (6'10 center, LaSalle '06, Minot Skyrockets)
Jason Forte (6'4 forward, Southern Mississippi '06, Yakama Sun Kings)
Travis Garrison (6'8 forward, Maryland '06, Great Falls Explorers)
Gordon Klaiber (6'8 guard, Fairleigh Dickinson '06, Albany Patroons)
Bryant Markson (6'7 forward, Utah '06, Utah Eagles)
Kevin Pittsnogle (6'11 forward, West Virginia '06, Pittsburgh Xplosion)
J.J. Sullinger (6'5 guard, Ohio State '06, Indiana Alley Cats)
Antoine Tisby (6'8 forward, South Carolina '06, Butte Daredevils)
Marc Williams (6'3 guard, Indiana [PA] '06, Pittsburgh Xplosion)
In this thread, I want everybody to post who they think:
1. Should be considered Rookie of the Year, based on their current stats
2. Which five players should be considered part of the All-Rookie Team
3. Which player of the twelve above is the most overrated of the dozen
4. Which player of the twelve above is the most underrated of the dozen
5. Which player of the twelve will get that first NBA call-up
Discuss.

1-Bryant MArkson of Utah should be the frontrunner based on stats -FG%, PPG etc..
2-Markson, Sullinger, Pittsnogle, Caudle and Bryant McAllister (he is a rookie but he was not on your list)
3-Pittsnogle by default, most of the others receive little fanfare.
4-Jason Forte I did not list him in the top 250 undrafted playershttp://www.oursportscentral.com/boards/showthread.php?t=4053 because he was an undersized PF and I felt no team would give him a look, him moving to OG is a big surprise, so to me he is the most underrated of the 12.
5- Markson should get called up within the next month IMO.
Obviously, I'm with Pittsnogle. He's done everything he can to get some wins for the Xplosion, who have simply been unlucky. They should have won tonight, but the bounce was not with them when it counted.

1. MARKSON
2.CAUDLE,FORTE,MARKSON,PITTSNOGLE,SULLINGER
3. PITTSNOGLE (HE APPEARS TO HAVE FOUND THE RANGE RECENTLY)
4.SULLINGER
5. NO ONE
Jason Forte is an interesting player. In the pre-season scrimmages(yes I went to a few, what of it) he looked awesome , I thought he would be a force. He has struggled at times, he has played substantial minute at PG, which is a real stretch. Has all the markings of a classic CBA player. He is a shocking finisher, guys clear the deck when he dunks. He will be tough to beat in the dunk contest. I think he has potential to make a living playing BAsketball around the world. But it will take a few years of polishing.

Mattear wa recently cut by the Sunkings, IMHO he should be playing somehwere in our league. Last year he played for the xplosion. The missippi stingers the year before
Kg, do you live here? How do you know he played for the Xplosion? I went to the games and I don't remember hearing about him. But I will check it.
If you went to their games last year, you should be going again this year.
My congrats to Kevin Pittsnogle, for being selected as the honoree for the week. Well done! If nobody else does, I think he deserves it.

Here's where I was coming from:
Pittsburgh Xplosion message board-2-15-06-Besides the absense of Armon Gilliam, who I hope returns soon-we need him, along with Mateer
And there was another one in which you said, "I do not remember a dunk from Matear, that would have gotten the crowd going.

XPLOSION GROUND THE AVIATORS
Dec 20 - For the second game in a row, the Pittsburgh Xplosion (8-7) had a flurry of offensive output in the first quarter, and cruised to an easy victory over the Ohio Aviators, 168-116. Xplosion newcomer DARIUS MATTEAR had an outstanding debut, leading the team with 28 points. Armon Gilliam contributed 23 points in the first half.

Um, Kg, you live in Yakama so I think you have your teams mixed up. The Xplosion is 1-11, not 7-8(although I wish we were closer to the even mark).
