Upper Mississippi Baseball League?

I was trying to find out if this league is legit. I recently saw an article dated 10/31/06 on http://independent.mostvaluablenetwork.com about the league, but the league web site [http://uppermiss.tripod.com] is no longer available. Some of the teams included East Chicago Lakers, Joliet MudCatz, Merrilville Railers, Rockford 15s in the North Division and Southern Bloomington Soy Sox, Champaign Homers, Lincoln's Team (Springfield, IL), Peoria Prairie Dogs in the South Division.

I'm from Peoria, and the only reference to this team I've ever seen is from the suspect wikipedia.
