Does anyone know why the Can-Am league operates a team that is strictly on the road? I know the Atlantic League did the same with the Pennsylvania Road Warriors, but never understood the logic? Is it because they can't field another team and they need an even number?

Yep that's why the Atlantic league has the Road Warriors (No longer called the PA Road Warriors)...to even out the amount of teams in the league. The league runs the team and its really just a feeder team to the other teams in the league.

What about out west in the Golden League. With the addition of St. George there are an odd amount of teams

not sure about what the golden league will do... their season schedule is due out this week and i'd be very surprised if there isn't an even number of teams, but you never know.

the can-am had the road team grays after one of the existing teams in bangor folded before the season was about to start and they needed a team to fill the 8th spot. this year, the league expanded from 8 teams when they had a chance to have atlantic city make the switch from the atlantic league to the can-am (with atlantic city making the switch for financial reasons) and the grays were added as a 10th team to balance the schedule out (it is pretty hard in baseball to have an odd number of teams with every team playing almost every day)

i personally don't mind having a road team. it means more home dates for the skyhawks and jackals and thus more summer nights in the stands.
