I told you IFL people the af2 could care less about your league and now here is proof.

Um, to me it seems the opposite, judging by the name. Maybe that's just me.

Pig, I think you meant to say that the af2 could not care less. caring = 0. By saying they could care less, it means they do care. caring >= 1.

I agree, and I bet Dittman's lawyers will as well. (Plays Imperial March).
Of course if what the "Sharks" owner says is in fact true, I guess the af2 really has changed its target ownership groups to those made up of morons.

I would be pissed if I was Dittman.

Ok fine. How about saying this will go and drive people nuts! The Austin wranglers who are the primary owners of the team will blow this off. Should be real interesting now.

We may not hear much more about it. Not sure about the merits of a lawsuit, but Dittman can spin it as a compliment.

According to Jeremy Golden, the af2 has a residency requirement for owners. How can Austin own this team then?

Austin owner Doug MacGregor has a majority ownership stake in most of the new af2 teams in texas, with local owners owning the rest. He gave them the financial stability to be let into the af2. He is planning to sell his stakes to local ownership groups.

The name is very similar. I think that Chad Dittman could sue if fans of the IFL team have called the team the Sharks for short. Kind of like if a hockey team came into Columbus, GA called the Snakes, which is a name used for the Cottonmouths.

So, All species of sharks as a name would be off limits? Last i checked, They are the hammerheads. Not the Great White, Tiger, Whale, Bull, Blue, Nurse,Mako and many other type of sharks, Including Landsharks... Hammerhead sharks are so distinct in features that only Idiots would confuse whatever logo the AF2 teams choses, with the Hammerhead logo.....
Now, if they chose a hammerhead logo, then they should have a fin to swim with.

I highly doubt that Chad Dittman is losing any sleep over this, or anything else the af2 has done in Corpus up to this point.
Bottom line: In two years (quite possibly even sooner), the Hammerheads will be the only team in Corpus Christi again.

just a little bit o news from Corpus Christi, where i've lived for quite some time: i have lots of friends who are enormous sports fans. they all know who the Coastal Bend Aviators are, definitely who the Champion CORPUS CHRISTI HOOKS are, they know who the Hammerheads are, and root for them, but i have yet to meet one sports fan friend yet who has any idea that there's going to even BE an AF2 team here, let alone what they're called...
