Has a modern day ABA team ever lasted more than two years?

The Kansas City Knights lasted from the start of the league to the start of last season before folding.

The Maryland Nighthawks are in their third season.
On average, what did the Knights draw in turnouts?

Tijuana, Fresno/Sacramento
The Knights had some announced crowds of 5000 or more that first year...they were playing at Kemper Arena....
However....I know a guy who went to a couple of games where they announced 2500 or 3000 and he said that there weren't more than a few hundred there. So take that for what it it worth.

Kansas City's announced average attendance was 2,722 the first year and 2,265 the second year. They announced 7,031 for their first home game ever and while it went downhill from there, it was still way above what most others in the league were doing.
With turnouts like that, it surprises me that they folded. I can think of many other teams that should have taken their place.

Of course, I'd have to ask people from Kansas City how many people were actually there. Since, you know, I don't live there and I can't go by what they announced. :)

They were paying big bucks to play at Kemper. Even when they moved to the smaller American Royal complex across the street, they were still paying big bucks in rent. UMKC controls the dates at Memorial Auditorium in downtown KC. They supposedly were going to come back when the new Olathe, Kan., arena was finished (along with the KC Comets soccer team), but that project has apparently been abandoned. The new downtown arena being built wants NHL and NBA.
You could play at some small college gyms in the area, but you would never get decent playing dates during the college season.
It sounds like they had a lot of true fans, who probably did not care where the Knights played, as long as they still had a team. It's sad to see a team with so much support disappear.

What's sadder is that, for a time there, I thought Jim Clark was going to be the solution to the problem. Now he's just disappeared.
True.
I just learned, from the Rochester website, that the league has postponed their game with the Ice in Toledo, schedule for Saturday.

Gee, I guess the new owner of the Ice was serious about being professional with a new arena, etc. He's batting 1000 with cancelling games. Same old ABA.
