I will be there for the tryout. I had some questions how many people are expected to show up? Alos if I made the team how much do I get paid? What kind of talent level should I expect?

All the information you need should be on the team's website (www.katyruffriders.com). If you need further information, you can contact Coach Donald Hollas at the number listed on the website.

Funny how the Ruff Riders decide to host a team tryout on the same day and the Copperheads ( which who had already announced their tryout date weeks ago). What, No dates other then Dec 16th were availbale between now and lets say.... Feb?.. CLASSY.... That must have came down from the top.... God Job Ditman, kudos.... Hope that cow palace you are going to play in works out for you.

Sorry to burst you guys' bubbles. But, the Ruff Riders tryout was scheduled and announced long before the Copperheads tryout was.

Well, regardless of when you were given a date, when the Katy tryout was announced, the Copperheads website was still nothing more than a splash page with no information other than a phone number. And, no official press release or team release had been put out by the Copperheads at the time that the Ruff Riders announced their tryout. So, I hate to once again burst YOUR bubble.
Look, I'm not going to get involved in a big debate over this. There was nothing underminded going on when the Ruff Riders scheduled their tryout. We don't concern ourselves with what's going on over in CyFair. Our concern is with what is going on in Katy and the IFL, nothing more.
So, unless you can provide links to actual news releases or team releases that show that a tryout announcement was made by the Copperheads prior to when the Ruff Riders announced their tryout, then as far as I'm concerned we have nothing else to discuss here.

I guess you're still bitter over the fact that Beaumont won't have a team this season.
However, we certainly welcome you to the Merrell Center to root for the Swashbucklers, Roughnecks, Stampede or whoever else you want to root for. It just means more money in the bank for the Ruff Riders.
I look forward to possibly meeting you.

Naa.... I get comps from all those teams when i go see them play, so i wont be spending a dime.... as a matter of fact, I have not paid for a ticket in 4 years to a game, anywhere. That included 2 trips to Odessa.
And as ar as Bmt, Not bitter about nothing, I have my teams that i pull for. I drove to katy for all but 1 of their home games anyways, so me having a team close is not an issue. I have Swashbucklers closer then Katy and still made that 2 hour drive to support them.I am fanatical about them all too.
I went back and looked, I was given the tryout date back in October. But aparently they did not release that info until a day after Ruff riders did, atleast on this board... But i have it in an email on their date well over a month back. Doesnt much matter... How many players actually are kept from those Open tryouts anyways? It is just another way to gain some added Cash flow. $50 a head and if you get 50 players out and keep 1, that is a nice $2500 day.
I also went looking through the NIFL site, they have a HOUSTON team listed as one of their new teams...3 indoor teams in 1 area in 3 leagues....
And i have nothing against you or your org. I want nothing but all teams to make it, that means more football fans made and the sport will keep growing! And yes, I am sure we are going to meet.

I would expect The Ruffriders to keep a decent amount of players from the tryout due to the fact that they arent established yet and are an expansion team.
