Keep hearing bells ringing on 3rd down lately over the PA address system at games. What's that in reference to?

Fans are being prompted to make noise. Nothing more.

I could be really snotty and say that my fellow Duck fans don't need any sort of prompting to make noise while Oregon is on defense, no matter the down. However, that's not snotty, that's accurate. I walked in one game with an old friend 10 years ago and lost my voice after one quarter while just trying to converse with the guy. Autzen Stadium is kind of loud.
