How many former NBA players are currently in the ABA?

This is what I can recall from last season:

John "Hot Plate" Williams (So Cal)
Keith Closs (So Cal)
Tremaine Folks (So Cal)
Fred Vinson (Aoshen)

I know there were more, but I can't seem to recall. Please contribute other names if you know of any....

Cedric Ceballos.

Did he play last year?

just remembered Dennis Rodman played a couple games last season for Tijuana...and of course, Tim Hardaway for the now departed Florida team.

Lawrence moten the former SU star and one time big east all time leading scorer who was darfted 31st overall by the girzzlies and spent 3 seasons in the NBA played for maryland for the past 3 or 4 season in the ABA. Chris Carawell the former ACC player of the year from DUKE and another NBA draftee who played in the NBA played for Rochester last year . Another noteable name would be Jimmy King the former michigan fab five member played in the ABA last year . The ABA has alot of big names in the mix , the ABA is doing a good job of finding talent and making it afforadble for local people to see.

Last year's ABA All Star MVP - Armon Gilliam.

But make note:

There are all one-way moves - FORMER players in the NBA going to the ABA. The league - for all its bluster about the number of players - has not had one call-up in the past two years.

Of course, the lack of centralized statistics, a valid schedule, and the continued existance of many of the franchises has a lot to do with that as well...

But we all know where the NBA stars past and future will be next year - they will all be CornDogs!

If the Xplosion were still in the ABA, I would agree. But I believe the question is how many are currently in the ABA. We are now in the CBA, as is Gilliam. I'm glad we still have him.

You're right - but with the references to Hardaway, Rodman and Moten (who is no longer active), I included Gilliam.

What CTP fails to understand is that there aren't a lot of "big names" in the ABA. Although there are some new people associated with the league this year that can bring name recognition - the Fame management and, to CTP's his chagrin, Alex Wolff (which may be the most important person to be involved with this ABA in its history) - until they can show ABA-to-NBA call-ups (especially of players that were 'groomed' in the ABA and never in the NBA prior to their call-up), they will take a back seat to the CBA and USBL.
