The WENY news has reported live on TV and on the online webcast version that they have spoken with the Citys mayor and citizens and "both think it is a great idea" The stargazette the real news paper for the entire area has reported the exact same thing.

If you were from Corning you would know that the Corningleader is horrible newspaper with like two pages and is known for getting the storys mixed up or just flat out wrong as it appears they have done once again.

here is the webcast site it is the one dated october 26th

http://multimedia.stargazette.com/webcasts/wmv/webcast.html

I have also seen on another news channel that the Corning Bulldogs have already been flooded with emails with over 2,000 citizens of the southern tier area who want season tickets it appears that the only problem the Corning Bulldogs will have is not enough room to fit every one in the gym, which is great news im sure for the owners. This is literally the biggest thing to hit Corning since well , ever!

Um, you're not talking to minor league newbies here. No way the Bulldogs have received 2000 season ticket requests. Not in a community that size for a team that doesn't begin its season for a year and has not yet announced a venue. I salute your enthusiasm, but we can do without false reports.

Watch the webcast , the buzz is high and the mayor and citizens are on board the webcast is free so feel free to watch it !!! , and I see you already dropped this new thread back below the other posting about corning so this one which actually reported the truth, would not be seen. Odvious this site is not to be taken serious. Corning loves the Bulldogs and an anti ABA blog site which is made up from the exact same 8 or 9 guys who bash the ABA over and over is getting old. Let it be , Corning is on the right track ...is there really anything that wrong with an ABA team doing good ?????

Corning Bulldogs FAN !

I'll ask again. Which member of the ownership group are you?

I watched the webcast before I posted. The reporter made a generic throwaway comment saying something about the mayor and people they talked with being excited about the team. Didn't mention any numbers, and certainly not those you brought up.

Instead of throwing a hissy fit right away, why don't you hang around for awhile to see how this board actually works. No one moved any threads. The board orders them automatically. As far as taking the site seriously, maybe you should take your cue from the ABA itself:

Look, we're not fools, and we're not going to buy fantastical man-on-the-street reports that have no basis in reality. Instead of lying and then lashing out at every media outlet that doesn't tow the line, why don't you just enjoy watching the team develop? Any skepticism you see has little to do with Corning and much more to do with the league and its history.

Go Bulldogs!

If only we all were as innocent. Enjoy what you have while you have it CTP. And keep up the enthusiasm. I sincerely hope it all works out for Corning. But a word of warning: pay with plastic.

Lets see Corning (ABA) has a population of about 15,000 and Minot (CBA) has a population of about 35,000. so therefore, lets see, add one, mutilply x 4 divide by 12..ok.....Corning will fold prior to the season and Minot will fold January 12, 2007. Meanwhile back in Albany, where Chuck Miller hosts his CBA museum ( note there is no hit counter on the bottom of the home page)
and his undying allegiance to the CBA, the CBA will announce two more teams. They of course will be located in the "WEST" Vietnam and Laos will be added. BUT, have no fear...there are always ripe ABA teams to bring into the CBA. It comes down to money..... he who has it rules !! Although checking my sources ( as an idependent Freelance sports journalist and Not a Chuck Miller type) you have to keep one eye on the ABA this year, you never know
which league will be in the "museum" by Summer 2007. Wait till the
owners of Minot try that weather....this isnt San Jose !!

I fail to see how any of this is related to the CBA or someone who hasn't even posted in this thread. Let's stay on topic in this thread.

While I'm glad to see Corning get a team, I agree that it is a bit premature for them to celebrate so early, considering the Bulldogs will not see action for another year yet. I would think those interested in buying season tickets would wait prior to next season before doing so. In the meantime, there must be some other way for them to invest.
I also agree that there would be 2,000 season tickets. I would think it would be more like 200.

What I am wondering is, if this team has that many people ready to turn over their money right now, why don't they play this season? In the ABA, it is far from too late to do that. They could use the same business plan many others have tried before. Just throw open the doors and watch the $$ pour in. Of course, all to pours in most of the time are past due bills. I think it is great if this team has excited fans a year out but, before they start telling people to do research on the greater Corning area and it newspapers, they might want to do some research of their own on the history of this league over the last 6 years. Then it would be clear where the doubters are coming from.

A suggestion that an ABA team might have actually waited to long to start up the season ? Shouldn't we be giving praise to an ABA team who just joined the leaque a few days ago and just a few weeks before this season started for being smart enough to wait until next year ? Im new to this ABA stuff but it appears some teams say they are playing to quickly and have to to extend the first season another year letting a lot of people down along the way, the Bulldogs seem to have thier head in the right place on this. Dont get me wrong I would love to see them start playing in a few weeks as im sure most of Corning would as well , however it seems the co-owners were smart enough to look into the past history of the ABA and they appear to be trying to break the mold by joining a year before the season in which they plan to play inorder to put a good team together, and that I am all for. So maybe all the good response from Corning is because we have good ownership or atleast ownership who appears to have a grasp on how to go about things. I hope to attend some Rochester Razorshark games this year to get up to date on the ABA even more, so im ready to watch my hometown team the Bulldogs next year. So maybe them not rushing things is good for us new "ABA FANS" as well.

Let's Go BULLDOGS , Let's Go BULLDOGS !

* warming up for next years games , I do apologize
