How is the Team looking? Does anyone know?

The Antz are in pretty good shape. We have signed (which means nothing until after camp) 11 players, 10 of which are returning Antz. All the ones we have so far are quality players. I was told that there are about 50 players for free agent camp before the main camp begins. Don't know how many of the already signed guys will make it to the final roster. I do believe that Marks will make the right decision, even if it means letting someone go that has been here before and is a fan favorite. Marks is a coach that knows how to win games. Saturday we will get a preview of what kind of team we will have. I can't wait!!!

Thanks for the update. I really miss actually seeing the Fireantz play.

Hopefully I will be able to see a game when they go play the Seals, that is still about three hours away though.

Well the two preseason games the Antz have not looked all that great. I know it is the preseason but you have only got so manys days to work out the kinks and they have a lot to work out

With the exception of being 0 for 17 on the power play, the Antz didnt look as horrible as the shutout might suggest. The Gades arent gonna win too many games if they get outshot like that night in and night out (shots were 49-27 in favor of Fayetteville). 2 of 13 on the power play isnt somethin 2 brag about either. Yes Jay Chrapala played brilliant in stoppin all 49 shots, but he's gonna need a better defense in front of him if the Gades are gonna b a solid club like Brophy thinks they are. Saturday night looked different though. The Antz came out and played well for about 10 minutes and Richmond played very solid and pretty much shutdown anything the Antz were looking to do (hope we play like that friday in fayetteville). Anyway, after lookin at the final rosters, Friday should be a good game and im so lookin foward to makin the trip to Fayetteville from Richmond. Enjoy the game guys!

Just wondering if anyone knows if Noah Katz made the team? He told us he had signed and is on the team page but don't see him in point streak. Curious because he stayed with us last year when trying out for the Tulsa Oilers.

I believe I saw in the paper this morning where Noah had been cut from the team. Sounds like a lot of the guys from last year did not make the team this year. I am not sure if that is going to be a good thing or not. I guess change can be good but it can also be bad

We need to get some kind of message board linked off of the Fireantz homepage. I was looking at Richmonds website and WOW!!!!!!!!!! They sure have their act together both on and off the ice. I mean they have a message board, photos(like 400+) from ALL(road and home) games, and the the over all look is great. I am not downing our website because I know I could not do better myself but there are a lot of people that could and would keep it up better. Just an idea thats all;)

Well we spoke to Noah last night and he said the coach told him we was not needed. Said he had a good camp with the Charlotte Checkers and had been looking forward to playing for the fireantz again. He is not sure what he is going to do at this time.

Sure hope someone gives him a look and has a chance to play all season on one team. He became part of the family during the time he stayed with us and our two boys who were 5 and 3 just adored him.

Good luck with the season for the Antz, if the 1st three game for Tulsa are any indication of the upcoming season lets just say I can't wait for spring when we will get some day light.

That old board is still up, but people have used it for trash promotion lately, and it is no longer used for Antz talk. There are however other boards for hockey talk. The ones I use most are intotheboards.net (it has the most Antz fans of any other board), and 4hockeyfans.com. These are both general hockey boards with subforums for different leagues. It is a good way to keep up with players that have moved on or up as well as discussions about our team. I like this board as well, but there just aren't as many fans on here. There are some other SPHL teams that do have their own boards, and I occaisionally visit them too, esp Knox. The more boards you have access to, the more information you can gain as well. It is also interesting to see different people points of view on the same topic just based on the different boards.

well i had talked to naoh the night of the meet and greet, since then i havent heard anything else, i just know what he told me, i hope he does get picked up somewhere, he is a good player and a very nice person, my son likes him too,,,,

thanksfor letting me know, i found some good stuff there too, i just started one cause i knew that i would keep it open, im a sth so i get alot of the info in the email.... but ill go to that board to..you should try the new one sometime
