Let's hear it for due dilligence folks...NOT!!

I guess such little things as have $300,000 in federal liens against you mean absolutely nothing to the af2 nowadays.

John Fourcade is the owner of the headhunters but don't let facts get into what you are saying.

Might want to tell these guys that...

Garner said he received a letter last week from an attorney representing developer Greg Disotell, who had sought to relocate the Mississippi Headhunters, a minor league indoor football team, from Biloxi to Pearl. "He was not able to secure his financing."

I also feel compelled to direct your attention to the following things-

http://www.msheadhunters.com/index.php (note the AFL and af2 logos)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mississippi_Headhunters (wikipedia thinks he's the owner)

BTW-Fourcade was going to be the GM

Oh snap! There's the "O-word" again.

Once again the headhunters were never formally a part of the Arena football family. Its just like Alaska using the logos before they were voted on. It is tolerated for interest but they were never part because the af2 has the hardest standards in all of indoor football. Fourcade is the owner.

You know, the UIF actually told Springfield to pull the logo...

This is the third time in less than a month where legitimate questions have come up over the ownership groups of expansion teams that have been announced in the past-and the second time that the team has failed. Your hard standards seem to have been taking a beating recently.

As for Fourcade, I find it hard to believe that a team of journalists would be unable to figure out who the owner of the franchise would be.

Once again you refuse to get it. Alaska was never a member of the league. They made a proposal but was allowed in a "handshake" to use the logo. If Alaska can finish the proper financial they will be in. Its hard for you to understand as the concept of being nice is not in your vocabulary as evidenced by your hate.

Even that handshake acknowledgement is acknowledgement enough that the league had accepted them. Af2's made its bed with these ownership groups, now it has to deal with the consequences.

I can be nice to people, just not ones who parrot everything the af2 says.

Also, I must congratulate you on your attempts to steer the thread away from what happened in Jackson-looks like I and the local Jackson media are correct there.

You are the parrot as is shown. But answer this serious question. Did you buy your season tickets to Bloomington for 2007 yet? I have 11 season tickets to my team to financially support them. What are you doing to financially support the uif?

I congratulate you for having vast amounts of disposable income. I, a college student who will be in DC from January to May (and perhaps through the summer internships providing), cannot afford to buy something I will be unable to use.
I have done my best to financially support the UIF in the past, though.

Enough. If you can't make a point without wrapping it in an insult for a fellow poster, you may have to take a break from this board. Consider this fair warning. Attack rams80's argument, not him. Just because someone disagrees with you, doesn't mean they don't "get it."

I don't know if you take a good hard look at your posts, but do you think you win anyone over with these same old tactics? Even those inclined to agree with you based on the argument hesitate to do so on the board after you inevitably attack your opponents. You sometimes make some good points, but too often they're lost in a personal attack or insult.

I am attacking his argument and not him. The fact is he is basing his argument on a complete lie and therefore it must be called out. The fact he claims to bash but yet to financially support what he believes in shows that he is baseless at best in his "argument of a lie". Nothing personal or insulting at all. There is nothing wrong with that.

If my argument is based off of a lie, then the media in Jackson has been lied to and should be swiftly informed.

Sure, I, who have little more than $2000 to my name currently (before you ask...massive scholarships and student loans), will buy season tickets for a team that will be several thousand miles away from me when they are playing. Yup, that makes loads of sense. If you're are going to kill my argument over that, so be it.

just add to list of so many mississippi franchises that has folded -- i was raised in jackson, mississippi and the town is a lot like new orleans -- anyone with money lives in the suburbs -- the town doesn't even have a theatre anymore -- high crime -- just got mississippi braves a few years ago -- but has also lost echl team the jackson bandits -- just chalk it up to a long line of forecade failures -- remember the mississippi firedogs and tupelo fire ants

You can do better than that. You will not be warned again.

Imagine if af2 pulled half of the hijinks as the NIFL. People are raking the af2 over the coals now for making certain their franchises meet certain criteria. When Alaska and Mississippi decided not to play, there were newspaper stories about what happened.

When it comes to the NIFL, we hear that the Dayton Warbirds have suddenly become the Dayton Bulldogs with no explanation.

I don't understand why people would give the NIFL the time of day let alone write about it or hope that their particular team returns.

I think comparing af2 and NIFL are like apples and oranges.

To clarify Alaska was never "in" the af2. They tried and with the present financials are not in. The Headhunters are the old COlumbus franchise owned by Fourcade, they are dormat. They were suppose to be in Biloxi but with Katrina we all know what happenned. They will be in Jackson as a new group is getting things ready to build an arena and not the loser from last week.

How and why Alaska and Mississippi did or did not come to fruition isn't the point. My point is that people are actually wasting time (myself included) and money (I have none) on leagues like the NIFL and ABA, while their execs sit back and chuckle or pad their pockets. These leagues don't deserve the time of day but people post comment after comment after comment about them.

And in Malepig's defense, af2 did not officially acknowledge Alaska as part of the league. Despite the loss of the guy with the liens against him, articles from the last two days indicate the Headhunters franchise is not dead.
