Has there ever been any men's pro indoor volleyball leagues? I know that there was a pro womens league once.
I have seen the outdoor beach league but do you think pro indoors would work?

I need to contact my Eugene buddy on this.
He actually has a media guide from the league that once existed (name doesn't come to mind). Wilt Chamberlain actually played in it. I think it was 70s era.
There's a reason the beach folks get more TV time... the same one that got me down to Santa Cruz a second time when I lived in California. It, BTW, wasn't the athletes themselves.

It was called the International Volleyball Association. They played from 75-79, the teams were out west.

The IVA was a co-ed (four men and two women) indoor volleyball league that operated from 1975 to 1980. The IVA did not complete its 1980 season. Some of the teams included: El Paso/Juarez Sol, Phoenix Heat, LA/Orange County Stars, Santa Barbara Spikers, Tucson Turquoise/Sky, San Diego Breakers, Seattle Smashers, Albuquerque Lasers, Denver Comets, Salt Lake City Stingers and San Jose Diablos.
Page 250 of "Leagues, Teams & Nicknames - 2006" has the complete five-year IVA league alignment.
