Dayshawn Wright was just signed by the Buffalo Silverbacks. When asked why his decision, he said he 'liked the competition better'. And he wants a shot at the NBA. Someone should tell him he chose the wrong league. Nothing wright about that choice. He was drafted by Minot(CBA) where he could have been promoted.

IMO he is not a CBA caliber player anyway even with all the over expansion going on with the D-League and the CBA, and he was a reach as the No.1 overall pick. He IS IMO a ABA player so he ended up where he belongs. Most guys that avg. 1.3 ppg and transfer to NAIA schools (where he did not play) don't make it to the show anyway. Plus, you have to have a thick skin and be a tireless worker to make it from the CBA to the NBA. The CBA is for players that will themselves to the show, it's more dededication than talent. This guy may be concerned about things other than basketball, so he may not have adjusted to living in Minot and making those 10 bus trips to Butte, the CBA is not for the weak minded.

BOTH leagues are going to be a hot mess this year, so it's a toss-up. High quality players will leave both leagues in droves when the money becomes funny. The scouts will follow.

The place to be in 2006-2007 will be the NBADL.

Wow, this is a switch. In threads, posters were complaining about the ABA.
Don't get me wrong, I respect the league and I enjoyed what I saw during our first season of action last year. But it surprises me to that you are defending him going to the ABA.
I don't know how the Xplosion will fare in the CBA, but I'm sure they will adjust to the new opponents, as will us fans.
I still have to wonder what will happen with the Division we left(North) in the White Conference, since Rochester and Buffalo seem to be the only active teams in it now.

You might be right, I read the CBA is going to expand to 24 teams within the next two years. There is not enough talent out there for that kind of expansion (with the D-LEague also going to 30 teams). The talent level will be extremely low if they decide to go that route. 12 teams should be the max, but I think the TSEG group and the former ABA vice-president guy may be driving forces behind some idiotic moves in the near future. These people at one point did believe in and co-signed Mr. Newman's no win situation league. However, I'll wait until I see the rosters before I join you in burying the CBA. With So.Cal out of the picture the only team I see going belly up during the season is Atlanta. But who knows you could be right.

I'm not going to join anyone in burying the CBA because I feel they are getting stronger and Pittsburgh is owed a good professional Basketball team, which I think we have. I don't care what league we are in, I'll support them.

It surprises me too that you think that. I stated that both leagues are going to be a nightmare this season. Except for Yakama and Albany (and I'm beginning to wonder about Albany) the current CBA is nothing more than another version of the current ABA.

KSf, I'm glad that this city finally has a pro Basketball team and I will do what I can to support them. I'm tired of the greed of the NBA. If you think the leagues are weak, that is your opinion. I have only seen the ABA, thus far. But from where I sit, it beats listening to nothing but college hoops. I'm just glad to see pro action(as in athletes getting paid), even if opinions vary on that. I'd much rather attend sports that are affordable. And I look forward to the coming season.
