JJ, can you give us some cbl news

The CBL meetings were held on FEB 7-8. There has
been no news about the league since. JJ, can you
provide us with an update.

[South Atlantic]

The CBL will go on according to schedule with Statesville, Salisbury, and Hickory. Three other teams (Durham, Wilmington, and Wilson) were in the mix.

JJ is concerned about Wilmington due to distance and lack of stability in their organization. Freddy Wilson is now working as a consultant to the Ontario Basketball League so maybe that will help solidify some players.

I know the guy in Wilson pulled out because of time and he is now holding his (the investors) money for the Raleigh location of the WBA. If he gets a chance at the WBA we will have to wait and see. I hope he does, I have seen the layout of the organization.

Durham has a legit chance at getting a team together. They have until the 20th of March to get things in place. If not, this will be a three team league.

I had heard rumors that there was to be a regional pro league coming to this area (NC area). Anyone have any comments on if that is true or just in fact a rumor?

I was suggesting a four man league, I presume you're not talking about that.

I haven't heard anything about a summer regional league here in the Carolinas that's credible.
