The New York Daily News has reported that the Norfolk Tides will be seeking a new affiliation to replace the Mets.

Does anyone know who is likely to affiliate with the Tides and where the Mets Triple A team will relocate to???

Rumors I saw had the Mets going to the now available Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons.

Since the Phillies are affiliating with Ottawa in anticipation of the franchise's move to Allentown after next season, I'd guess Baltimore would be interested in Norfolk.

I read the Phillies affiliation is moving to Allentown...into the new stadium. They aren't moving to Ottawa. A rumor I heard was the Orioles were leaving Ottawa and moving to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. However, it would make sense for the Mets to move to Northeast Pennsylvania. We'll have to wait and see.

Phillies have officially affiliated with the Ottawa Lynx for their lame-duck season there. (I guess you can't sign 1-year PDCs)

Someone at the Phillies told me they will be in Ottawa in 2007 for one season. I'm assuming the Phillies won't be going to Allentown until 2008.

I would think it would make more sense for the Mets to be in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre...and the Orioles to be in Norfolk. Scranton isn't really that far of a drive from Noo Yawk Sh*tty...and I would think it's easier for players to get back and forth between Norfolk and Baltimore.

I have heard of Major League affiliates only being in a town for one season. In 2001, the Astros were in Pittsfield for only that season (before their move to Troy, New York...and when the Mets left Pittsfield for Brooklyn). The Pittsfield Astros only lasted one season...then the Northeast League/Can-Am League Berkshire Black Bears moved in.

I wish they could get a minor league team back in Pittsfield. In my opinion, Waconah Park is one of the best places to see a ball game...mainly, because of the stadium's age...and history. Currently, the park houses the Pittsfield Dukes of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (a summer wooden bat league).

A Columbus Dispatch article mentioned them as a possibility for Columbus, since the Yankees are pulling out.

Young has just bought the AA, A, short season A affiliates of the Orioles.

Looks like he's looking for a situation with Baltimore like the Ryan family has with Houston.

Affiliated minor league baseball looks more and more like Wal-Mart everyday.

The Phillies to Ottawa from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (Triple A International League...only in Ottawa for 2007...then to new digs in Allentown for 2008.)

The Yankees to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre from Columbus (Triple A International League)

The Nationals to Columbus from New Orleans (Triple A...from Pacific Coast League to International League)

The Nationals to Hagerstown from Savannah (Single A South Atlantic League)

The Mets to New Orleans from Norfolk (Triple A..from International League to Pacific Coast League)

The Royals back to Wilmington from High Desert (Single A...from California League to Carolina League)

The Cubs to Tennessee from West Tennessee (Double A Southern League)

The Royals to Burlington (Advanced Rookie..from Pioneer League to Appy League)

That's all I have as of this writing.
