Game one of the Eastern Division Championship. My Wild Things versus the Paints. I will be attending tonight's game. If it goes all 5 I may go Sunday. But I don't think this series will make it past 3 or 4 games. The Wild Things have owned the Paints this year and I expect no different in this series. Paints fans Bring it on. Loaf31 let me hear ya. You going tonight?

I wish I was going, but I am going to the Steelers Dolphins game tomorrow night, If it goes 5 games (which I also do not think it will) I will go. I am holding out hope to get championship series tickets for next week.
But I will be listening on WJPA 95.3 FM

Oh, boy! Well, I wonder if this will take longer than 4 games? Washington gets ambushed 9-3 against my Paints!
I think this series could go longer than expected. If the Wild Things don't win tommorow, game 3 will be at the VA, so who knows?...
I'm going to go to Game 3 and Game 4 if it's needed. I'm hoping for my team to get going early and to finish off Washington, because whoever we face out of the West is weak (no offense but it's true...) and the chances of hoisting up the trophy increase. I hope John Martinez is alright. He pulled a hammy. (hamstring)

Nice play on words there, gotta give you that. I did 4 games which gave the Paints leave way for 1 victory. If you guys are going to rely on the long ball to win ball games this may be your only win in the post season. 3 jacks is what won the game for the Paints, no timely hitting what so ever. We will see tonight.

Hey, I'll take an "ugly" win over a good looking loss any day. Adrian Cantu's shot was well over the 410 mark in center. He got every bit of Popp's pitch. That's what the long ball is about, getting just enough of the pitches off the bat. Cantu's been there in late-game situations; game winning single against Florence in the 13th inning at home. Game winning homerun in the 8th inning at home. Okay, so he's not so fast as a baserunner, but that kid has strength.
The Paints can play small ball, too. Maybe not as good as Washington can pull it off, but the Paints can still play that type of ball. I've seen games won like that. While one game doesn't win everything, it's a momentum grabber. Again, "if" the Wild Things lose in Game 2, Washington will be in a hole.

Do you like your team name Paints? And this is starting to become a nice little rivalry between Washington and Chillicothe in the Eastern Division, battle it out in the regular season and then meet in the Playoffs. Is this 2 or three years in a row?

I agree with Paintsfan. You win in the playoffs with pitching defense and timely hitting....Period. Long ball or no long ball. I mean if you hit a home run with a couple guys on isnt that timely hitting? Looks like you guys got something going here. To be honest I didnt think that Chillicothe had much of a chance but with the game one steal I do think its going to be tough for Washington seeing as Chillicothe was just swept by them not to long ago at home....They gotta be pissed and looking for revenge. Looks like its gonna go down to the wire. By the way I think we should be playing Rockford or Washington right now. Not bitter...:p

They pitched and played defense the whole game but after the first inning they were o'fer with runners in scoring position. They knocked the starter out again after 2/3 of an inning but the Paints Bullpen stumped the bats again. Their bullpen should be well worn out now. They better hope their starters start going 6 or better the rest of the series or their arms are going to fall off.

I see you're from Frederickstown, how far are you from Falconi? I make my way there from Pittsburgh (Mt. Washington). Takes about a 30-35 mins during the week.

Of course I do like the name Paints. It doesn't sound cheesy at all. This is the second year in a row that the Paints and Wild Things have met in the postseason, and it's the third time out of 4 years. (2003, 2005, 2006; Paints were a .500 team in 2004)
It's becoming a good Frontier League rivalry slowly. Once you build the history up between two certain teams, you'll have something. I guess the Wild Things have been the "Yankees" of the FL (regular season-wise), while the Paints throughout their history have been the "Red Sox" (no FL championship in 14 years?), so yeah, it makes sense.
I'll be on my way to VA Memorial Stadium shortly.

wow a questionable call....with the bases loaded in the Top of the 8th Lance Koening hit into what appeared to be a DP, but Lance beat it out, allowing nick Massari to score from 3rd to tie the gm @ 1.....Paints 3rd baseman get ejected for arguing

Paints manager Glenn Wilson is going absolutely nuts in the btm of the 8th....slammed his hat on home plate, threw off his wristband and lineup card/pen....getting interesting

Paints win 2-1 in 10 innings.....wildthings down 2-1 in series....Paints can end it tomorrow or sun

And to think that some of you thought the Paints were DONE and were going to go down in 3. That team keeps coming back up just when you think they'll stay down. The only thing I'm worried about is the short rest to 2:05 the next day. It will be at the VA, but alot earlier than usual. Other than that, I can exhale alittle more. 1 more win for Chilli-town and the Things are gone...

Yes I thought the paints were going to go down in 3 to the wild things. They have played well and just need one more win. The only reason I htought that they were going to go down in three was becasue when they played up in TC and the way they played at home against Washington to close the season. To me it looked like a team that wondered if they were even going to make it into the playoffs. Plus reading on the frontier league website some articles from the Chillicothe newspaper you would of thought the world was ending the last 3 weeks of the season. Plus Washington has been lights out since August 1st. So you gotta admit there was some merit there man. I do think now that they will close it out in 4. Well at least we still got are Tigers and Lions, well Tigers anyway.

Indeed, there is merit to that assumption. I agree with you there. At the home stretch I was wondering if this team wanted it at all. They lost alot of ground. The fact is, soul searching had to be made. They had to dig deep and keep going. Whatever happens, I'm proud of them already. They dealt with adversity, contreversy, and tragedy and they still managed to prove something to themselves and others. They got heart.
I'm very optimistic about the Paints' chances now. They seem so locked on at this point. I'll be there again.

To the Wild Things fans here, I give your team/organization kudos. It's not easy making the playoffs 5 years in a row. That's unheard of in the FL. You guys do have a solid foundation and I can respect that. I was just teasing around. ;)
Plus the Wild Things are the 3 time defending regular season East Division champions, but as far as the playoffs go...

And off to either Evansville or Rockford.

Well Paintsfan I give the Paints credit they proved me wrong and sent the Wild Things home in 4. Congrats to them and good luck in the finals, I'll be pulling for Chillicothe to win. Reasons 1. Chilli. has not won the title in their existance and 2. because they are in the same division as Washington, and it would be nice to play the champs all next season adding to the rivalry. What do you say Paintsfan Friends?
