well, It's the 28th and the PIFL did say they'd announce teams in late August. Is anyone else thinking that if they don't make their announcement in the next 3 days, it'll be a bad sign of things to come?

The problem the PIFL has is if they dont announce what teams are joining them, they give no other owner any reason to call them to do business with them. The ssssshhhh, is not a good business strategy in this business when so many owners need contracts and schedules in place so far in advance.

You make a good point there, they need to let the public know that they have teams. And if you think about it how are teams getting sponsorship and other things with out league site info, its going to be kinda hard selling something you say your a part of but no proof.

is what the PIFL is. In theory, it was not a bad idea. However, the nature of minor league indoor football makes traveling all over the country impossible. Even by breaking down into regions, with lets say, four teams. Thats a six game schedule, then you've got to leave your region.

You know what I'd like to read on here. A substantiated, I know posters cant offer definitive proof on here, nonetheless I'd really like to know how many, if any teams actually turned a profit, relardless of league affiliation !

Make me some suggestions and offer a thought as to how they did it, ie...excellent attendance, they get a share of concessions and parking, sold out all their dasher boards, cut a fantastic deal for arena rental....

You're thoughts gentlemen and ladies.....

Whether they get off the ground or not, it might be in the PIFL's best interest not to play in 2007.

Lawsuits are starting to fly around like a swarm of bees. Read where the AIFL is suing the WIFL and its former AIFL teams. There is strong rumor that the NIFL will file their patent and copyright lawsuit against the WIFL as well.

It would not surprise me if the NIFL files additional lawsuits against teams that leave their league.

Somewhere the madness will end. But, I'm afraid that the damage will be severe before the storm goes away.

I believe you are right. At this point, I'd be surprised if the NIFL doesn't sue the departing teams, though they may want to skip Billings. The Outlaws tend to stomp the NIFL in court.

Unfortunately, this move by the AIFL looks way too much like the unsuccessful maneuvers tried by the NIFL in the past. One wonders where the new AIFL owners stand on this, as some of them may be sued for leaving another league.

Since the Outlaws are more or less the ringleaders of the renegade NIFL teams don't be surprised if they offer their expertise in beating the NIFL in court to the other teams coming along with them to the UIF or wherever.

Beating the NIFL (or AIFL) in court isn't too hard to do. The NIFL backed down when presented with an entity that fought back (IFL) last year. The only "win" for the NIFL came when St. Joe of the APFL didn't know what to do (or couldn't afford a competent lawyer).

Your best defense against the NIFL will be breach of contract due to lack of due dilligence (allowing in franchises that don't have the means to be viable). The league also is responsible for providing bona fide opponents. In open court, the NIFL will be forced to open its books (something it's very afraid of and something it wasn't willing to do with the IFL last year) and the NIFL will back down.

I hear that a group from Tacoma, Washington is trying to get in the PIFL (heard it on the af2 boards-on the Arena Football website)

Looks like another year of waiting for PIFL. I love their concept, I'd like to see it in action.
