After seeing about 500 minor league games I saw my first no-hitter Friday night.
Drew Jackson of the Chillicothe Paints tossed a no-no against River City in the second game of a doubleheader. Jackson was making his first start for the Paints since joining them from Florence at the trade deadline. He only allowed a walk to Mike Cockrell to spoil his bid for a perfect game.
The last two outs were recorded in a downpour as the rain arrived a little earlier than predicted. The Paints led 7-0 after five innings and so the game was official.
I doubt few in the park realized what was happening, as most were dashing for cover. I didn't realize it myself until the last batter was up. It was still pretty exciting.
