BTW, they're now the Montgomery Bears.

Out of the fire and into the frying pan...

I'd like to give John Morris and Mike Mink a hand. They saved the team in an honorable fashion. They've kept the indoor game in their hometown. Now they have fled the NIFL. It could be said there are better league options than the AIFL. Still it's not the NIFL, and that's a good thing.

I actually agree with you.

ANYTHING BUT THE NIFL!

Reading today's artical, that is the impression I got.

"But Morris and Mink insist they can turn things around. They've put their money where their mouth is -- although they declined to say how much they paid to become part owners of the AIFL."

Hmmmmm. Part ownership?? Interesting! I'm not sure how exactly that may work out, but I don't necessarily see it as a BAD thing either. Haines and AIFL did over do it on expansion this last season. Going from 6 to 16 teams was a bit much, and the results are in! So long as Morris and Mink offer good advice which Haines heeds I think the league will actually stablize and show steady, more controlled growth and expansion. They may pick up more survivors of the NIFL fall-out. I dunno...Hope for the best!!

Expansion becomes overexpansion when that next team is a mess. If the NIFL had 70 teams and all were ran to the level of a Casper or a Lakeland, I don't think anyone would be questioning the "perceived" overexpansion.

Same thing here, if the AIFL gets back to 16 or more teams for 2007 but all are solid, they didn't overexpand.
