LOL! I wouldn't expect anything less from a JT man.

Is a bullet proof vest going to be standard issue in the EIFL??............I was just watching ESPN's Cold Pizza, and they were talking about the Clarett situation. They made no mention of the EIFL. That's too bad, I'm sure JT would take publicity anyway he could get it....Even like this.

ESPN Radio's Dan Patrick show mentioned both EIFL and the Hitmen and even discussed the sound effects on hitmen's site.

The face of the EIFL:

Jim Terry The Clown's statement defies sanity:

He plans to play football this season for the Mahoning Valley Hitmen in the Eastern Indoor Football League. Hitmen coach and owner Jim Terry released a statement saying the incident has no bearing on Clarett's status with the team.

ESPN Radio's Dan Patrick show mentioned both EIFL and the Hitmen and even discussed the sound effects on hitmen's site. Would those sound effects happen to be gunshots??? And the incident WILL have bearing on his status with the team....IF HE'S IN PRISON!!

I guess there will be a sequel to the Longest Yard and Clarett and Terry can star in it from the prison cells.

Yep. DP opened his show talking abouthte gunshots on the Hitmaen's site.

Why would JT shy from Maurice now? He is getting exactly what he wanted. Press. Now he can say his league has been on ESPN.

Reports from Youngstown are that the Thunderplex has pulled out of the Hitmen deal..

POOF goes the EIFL, just like we knew it would.

From the USA Today report:
"The arrest will not affect Clarett's status with the team, Terry said.
"We gave him a chance and now we'll wait to see what happens," he said. "I've seen far worse situations than this." "

Terry must be hoping to use him on work release.

I love that quote. If I owned a football team and my star player was in this kind of trouble what would my far worse situations be? After thinking about it those situations all involve death or serious injury. Going head on into a Dodge Omni while on my motor cycle sucked worse than "this" would.
After reading all these articles I'm only left with two major questions. Who the hell steals a cell phone? Holy crap. You have to be under the totum pole the reach that kind of low. At least the location was appropriate. The Opium Lounge. I'm luvin' it.
Second question. What kind of moron looks at a cell phone bandit to be his big star? I'm going to go strong arm rob a doctor for his beeper. I bet that would get me one hell of a job with JT. Maybe even commish.

Speaking of the EIFL commish, what ever happened to this John Guy guy? lol

On a serious note, this is the problem with athletics at the Division I level (and, for many, the high school level). A kid come through with a high level of talent and gets the wrong people around him almost immediately.
Instead of getting discipline, he's told whatever he does is OK. Teachers give him that extra slack in class. Then when he gets to college, some professors give him extra slack. Nobody tells the kid no. Everyone looks the other way when the boosters and agents and other slime gives him money. (I read something last year that he spent the year when he was fighting the NFL to let him in with LaBron James, probably not the best role model for someone who needed to straighten up and fly right.)
He couldn't cut it in the NFL (they actually make you work there and produce), so with no visible job skills and a squandered chance at an education at an otherwise top-flight university (OK, that doesn't explain how I turned out the way I did, Go Bucks ;) But then again, I spent most of my free time at the ice rink or playing basketball, red gym 1 had the best games.) and with an overblown sense of entitlement, we all see how it turned out.
He is still young and still has time to turn both his life and football career around. (He hasn't killed anyone yet, so he may still have time left for football after around five to seven years in the pen if convicted and the judge doesn't go too hard on him. Even Mike Tyson had a career left after prison.)
Getting mixed up in a JT scheme probably didn't help him.

Reports on Sports Center this morning said Clarett was driving only about 2 blocks from a womans house who was supposed to testify against him in his previously scheduled court date stemming from his January robbery arrest.....

Nk, Tyson is a good person to add to the conversation. I could see JT, Tyson, and The Cell Phone Bandit all working together. CIFL. C for Criminal.
I also wonder how many folks are going to give The Cell Phone Bandit the benefit of the doubt. "He was 2 blocks from a witness against him, wearing body armor, armed to the teeth, and had a hafl bottle of vodka with him. It's probably a coincidence."
Final ramble. Grey Goose vodka? That stuff is an ad campaign. It tastes horrible. I can see the new commercial now. The Cell Phone Bandit behinds bars saying his lines. "Whether I'm stealing cell phones at the Opium Lounge or on my way to bump a witness, Grey Goose is with me. The nauseating aroma, and tupentine finish always set the mood for crime."
Looks like the Hitman was on his way to a hit.

On cold pizza this morning Woody and Skip did mention JT and his, uh, "league". They even mentioned his quote " I've seen worse than this," but they painted him and the EIEIO to be the joke that they are.

Clarett could still play in the EIFL...Eastern Incarcerated Football League.

Jim Terry could be the warden/commish!
