It's not good for team morale to continue releasing/trading position players or pitchers. If you never know who's on your team day to day that's bad for everyone concerned.

Thorp I agree with you if you keep releasing and picking up new player you do not have time to gel together I think after the all star game the teams should have a locked in roster or some kind of rule to give a young men time to put things together and show what he can do. You know one bad night for a pitcher could get you traded and thats not fair.

Short season, small roster, very little time before the season started, all these things are factors in the shuffeled lineups. That is the nature of minor league baseball. Think if this was an affiliated league some of the best players would be called up about the time the playoffs start for our league. Something sorta like that happened to the Aces once a few years back, about the time the season was winding down 2 or 3 key players moved on to affiliated teams and the Aces missed a shot at a 3rd league championship. I know this year here in Alexandria the Aces have had some injuries and had to bring in some new players. Just this week a brand new pitcher made his first apperance because one of our relievers went to the disabled list. Next year most of the teams will have lots of players you've never heard of, and some from other teams in the league. That is how it works in an independant minor league.
