SECOND YEAR PRO INDOOR LEAGUE WILL KICK OFF IN APRIL

The American Professional Football League, a second year 8-man pro indoor league will kick off in April with 8 teams. Playing rules are similar to the National Indoor Football League, using the standard ice hockey size field the same as the Arena League and Arena2 Leagues, but no rebound net is used. The lineup for 2004:
Topeka, Kansas
Kansas City
Cousel Bluff, Iowa
Lacrosse, Wisconsin
Villa Park (Chicago), Illinois
Sprinfield, Illinois
Denver, Colorado
San Antonio, Texas
A website will be up soon and info will be posted on this site. The league is already making plans to expand in 2005 and is looking for owners that live in a city with a ice hockey arena that holds a minimum of five thousand fans, finacially stable owners who will be required to post a illrevocable letter of credit and show money in the bank, a full time office, paid coaching staff and publicity department. Players are paid between $200.00 and $300.00 a game and coaches are paid also. All travel expenses are paid and uniforms provided. A Western Division is in the works for 2005 as well as expansion into the other areas where there are established teams. If you can meet the requirments for admission for the arena and financially email info to: pifl98@aol.com

Well that is good news...

They're gonna have to scramble though to be ready by April..

Unless of course these teams have already been announced in the cities you have listed...

I am wondering.... Is Kansas City the same old team that played over in Blue Springs, Missouri and were known as the Minutemen?

I see St. Joe has finally had enough.. After the pummeling in the NIFL.. oops.. the National Indoor Football League.. not the Nebraska Indoor...
And then to get creamed in the APFL...

Oh well... Lets hope all of this comes about.... Including the pay scale you listed.... Which.... If all does..... Then the APFL should be afforded a spot on the OSC index..... And also IF they actually get a website that is the APFL and not a subfolder on the Koyotes website...

Cool. I may have some more Electric Football Teams to paint..
398 now and counting...

Well, it does really sound promising, but I want proof. A link too a website to a creditable source would have been nice.

He started the PIFL in 1998 in Denver with the Colorado Wildcats. He is the Grand Father of Indoor Football, he fought the AFL on the patent for football for football indoors. The PIFL left Denver with a rash of bad debt and unfulfilled promises, this was the case in almost every city they had a team in. The PIFL became the IPFL, Kerry Ecklund took his two tems and started the IFL, and the IPFL took on a new owner in Alexandria,LA named CS, who went on to start the NIFL. All these people have links to each other in some way.

Are you sure there's 8 team. I've only heard of 3 teams Kansas Koyotes, Missouri Minutemen, and Iowa Thunder. When can we expect a schedule? I know that the Iowa Thunder have had 1 tryout, with more to come.

I thought it was the Texas Thunder out of San Antonio not the Iowa thunder.

I just want to know how will the APFL have another team in colorado. Will it be in the springs. I believe there is room for one more team in colorado, because the talent is so good. But how will the apfl pull this off.

Lew in Denver, you are the only one on this board with all the vast knowledge of all the leagues. Do you think they will pull this off? There are a lot of big city names.

Hey Biggs,

I told you the Crush was going to be way better this year. 2-0 baby!!!!!!!

The first crush game was one of the best games I have ever seen in along time. I really think that changed the whole outcome of the season. Before I saw that game I predicted that they will only win six games. Now I believe they will win ten or tweleve games and make it to the playoffs.
How your attitude changes when you win that first game. No team in the AFL looks dominant this year. It will be any teams championship and the crush just might be that team. Time will tell.

Looking over the Misery Minutemen website.. (Sorry. It's the Jayhawk in me... But then again... I'm not sorry. )

Anyway... Comparing their schedule against the proposed list of teams from the original post... I see the Chicago area team... A team called the Illinois Bruisers I will assume is Springfield... Texas (San Antonio), Iowa (Council Bluffs), and the Kansas Koyotes out of Topeka...

Now where the Mid-States Crude are from I don't know.. Are they the Denver team?... La Crosse isn't mentioned anywhere but there is a Nebraska Wildcats team on the schedule that of course is not Denver or La Crosse...

The Kansas Koyotes website still does not have a schedule posted..

Trying to stay positive here...
So I am going to leave it at that..

Someone please explain this part off the Texas Thunder football site: The Texas Thunder have signed four players from the 2003 APFL Champion Kansas Koyotes for their opening game vs the Minutemen. The Players are QB Chris Coffin, Roger Hawkins, OL Duane Brock, and DL Damon Sutherland.

Does this mean the Thunder are only using them for the game vs the minutemen or these are signings for the year???

from what i understand it's just for that game. That comes from Chris Coffin himself.

Well that's what I was hoping especially since Chris is such a great qb. He's listed on the Koyotes Roster so I was hoping nothing had happened to get him away from us. I met Chris after the Championship game and can't wait to see him play this year!!

I have been informed that nothing prior to April 10th is a part of the official APFL schedule, so any dates before that must be exhibitions or otherwise.
