The lastest is that the Kwings will be sold to a group called Greenleaf holdings. The team will be not be playing hockey at wings stadium. Greenleaf is also buying Wings Stadium and have plans in tearing it down to make room for a 5,000 room hotel. Their is talk that a new arena will be build in down town Kalamazoo with a seating in the 6,000-10,000 range. This arena will be big enough for hockey, arena football team as well a basketball team, along with concerts. This arean will be build by the year of 2008-09.

Kalamazoo Wings fans will have to wait until than to raise those championship banners.

I could see building a new stadium, moving the K-Wings then razing Wings Stadium. But there's no way that someone is going to put them on ice for a year or 2 and not play.

Also, the CIFL's Explosion are calling Wings Stadium as their home, so this is indeed erroneous.

A 5000 room hotel in Kalamazoo? Wrong! The average hotel size is maybe 200. 5000 in vegas-esque
