Just to clarify something that was a complete fabrication from the Marshals. it was reported by them that a Faith Hill concert prevented them from having the game at the US Bank Arena on July 8th. Faith Hill performed in Atlanta on the 8th, Memphis on the 9th, and finally rolled into Cincy on the 11th.

Anyway, don't let the truth get in the way of a good story.

How long does it take to set up for a gigantic concert
that's going to make a bunch of money for the arena?
I don't know.
But I'm sure it's not a couple of hours.

Why wouldn't the Marshals play if they could.
A home game . . . most the players would have been there.
It doesn't make any sense.

USBank Arena owns the arena, not the Marshals.

USBank Arena calls the shots, not the Marshals.

When I was in college (sometime back in the stone age), I worked a few times as a local roadie helper (they called us in to help the real set-up crew). It would take us (depending on how complex things are) about between three and eight hours to set something up.

These big arena shows have so much of the set in big trucks. It takes some time, but usually not more than about eight to 10 hours. Everything kind of snaps together. (A little more complicated than that, but that's the short end of it.)

Why wasn't the Cincy Gardens looked at or Hara Arena, hour up the road (I'd think they'd laugh at you if you called the Nutter Center)?

The Nutter Center had a Jehovah's Witness Convention..(no I'm not kidding)..Other arenas were called but with a short time frame there was very little that could be done. Part of the problem was the July 4th holiday. A lot of things didn't get done on Monday or Tuesday due to the holiday which caused the time crunch.

I know for a fact that multiple arenas were contacted in the process of trying to secure another venue. Let's not forget that it should have been Osceola that should have been looking for another venue on that weekend instead of waiting to have a Monday game (which was scheduled for another arena as well)

ANYWAY, at this point...none of this matters. The Marshals travel to St. Louis to play the River City Rage on Saturday...it's time for the Marshals to get their revenge for the 2 regular season loses. BRING ON THE RAGE!

Yo Fan80 ...

Look, you're in, we're out, so you can stop piling on. The football team isn't the primary tenant in our building ... it's not called the Silver Spurs Arena for nothing. We know why the Marshals' people didn't approach U.S. Bank until Thursday ... why would you agree to host the game when you didn't have the money to pay the venue for it? (Why do I get the sneaking suspicion that had you gotten home field the right way (by beating Greensboro 2 weeks ago) you would have tried to weasel out of it the same way?)

Anyway, you threw it back in Osceola's lap, and they came up with a plan (Monday in Lakeland), tough cookies that you didn't like it. But like I said, you're in and we're not. Whole thing worked out pretty much like you drew it up, right?

It seems that the word was out before Osceola even clinched a playoff game sometime back that everyone knew that they couldn't host this last weekend. Word was being spread for quite some time that Cincinnati would be hosting, and it appeared the Cincinnati was willing to let people believe that until Thursday night, Friday morning.

Going into this situation I certainly had nothing against the Marshals, but even though the blame has to be put on the NIFL, clearly there's a stench coming out of Cincinnati over this whole situation.

Anyone that thinks that Cincinnati would've beat Osceola on the field of play? Not me.
