Regarding Fever owner Randy Schillinger's after game controversial yelling match with Kona radio big wig Kelly Cheatwood......
Talked to three people that were a part of this incident Monday. Two people from the radio station and one that was on the field. I did not want to comment until I got some direct facts about this. The reason I am going to put what I heard on here is because I have personally and professionally had problems with Mr.Schillinger myself . I feel he is the bad apple in the Fever Ownership that has been responsible for nearly every major and minor problem they have experienced.
The gentleman I talked to that was on the field and saw what Mr. Schillinger did to Kelly Cheatwood (Kona Radio) said this, and I quote, "Schillinger jumped right in the face of Kelly and started yelling at him about Whitsett being in the booth with Kona at the game. Kelly said what the hell is your problem, he bought a ticket and he is our friend. Schillinger said it looked bad toward him that Whitsett was at the game and that Kona supported him being there. Kelly then said he resigned for personal reasons, why would it look bad towards you?"
"It got more heated after that and Teri Carr had to jump inbetween them and grad her dad and walk him away and was clearly, visably upset with him (Schillinger)."
Ok, I will paraphrase what the two Kona radio people told me. They confirmed the incident first. Then said the station strongly considered not making the trip to Billings with the team. They have now chose to make the trip because of the Fever fans/Kona listeners and for no other reason. They are not making the trip because of the Fever ownership (particulary Schillinger). They also said that this will probably end their two year relationship with the team as far as broadcasting the games is concerned.
There you have it. That is what I have came up with. I had three very reliable sources (right from the horses mouth so to speak).
