Beaumont will host Katy in the playoffs, despite the fact that the NIFL acknowledged Katy as the division winner last week. So what happened? Depends upon whom you believe.
According to Beaumont, the Drillers won the division title - http://www.oursportscentral.com/services/releases/?id=3338775 . Despite finishing at 8-6 compared to Katy's 11-3, they somehow take top billing. Katy beat Beaumont in two out of three games played between the teams.
According to Katy, they are giving up the game to Beaumont, though maybe not voluntarily - http://www.oursportscentral.com/services/releases/?id=3338808 .
"The bottom line is that League officials felt the Monday game scenario would not work financially in my favor," Copperheads Head Coach Bryan Blake said.

Now, Paul.
You know quite well that has never been a concern with NIFL leadership.
Shoot, I remember a few years back when Lincoln was still competitive, the wildcard rules were changed(or not changed, depending on who told the story) late in the year, when Lincoln stormed back after a slow start. Appearances were that the league needed to get Bismark in the playoffs for their potential new ownership group.
That worked well for the NIFL, as well. TIPS didn't quite pan out as advertised.

It's messed up. Either way, if I were a fan of either, I'd be pissed.

here's the truth --- the merrell center already had all saturday's booked in july --- ticket sales for monday's game was poor --- also center wanted more than triple the normal amount to host the event --- it is cheaper to go to beaumont than to pay triple normal arena fees --
Katy is still champs of southern division and it is crap that beaumont made the post and release on them being champs --- it is a lie and this is the truth

Why would an arena demand triple the normal costs for a playoff game? That sounds down right stupid.

PioFan, I have the same question. Doesn't make sense. Blake even mentions their good relationship with the arena in his release.

You cant tell me there is more money to be made with the 600 people that show up to a beaumont game. Thats not even possible. The Reaps are in it with CS and thats why they are getting the game. This league is beyond a joke and I cant believe its even called football anymore. Its more like a fantasy football league that the commish changes the rules so he or she wins every year.
