WIll Rome's experience in last year's NIFL Indoor Bowl 5 and their own home field help them defeat the Conton Legends Monday night ? Will the experience of Kevin Mason carry Canton to the title ? Don't know a whole lot about Canton but I believe they must have a hell of a defense to hold Readint to nearly nothing for three quarters a week ago, and what kind of an impact will Canton's extra four days of rest have ?

Huntington via Forfeit over the PA Cardinals.

Seriously though, I hope the game is close, and think it will be. Canton by 3.

I think Rome is a "Paper Lion". The only good team they played all year was the Bandits. Yes they beat the Bandits twice but they also lost to half baked teams like Raliegh and the Vipers. I see no consistancy. Which Rome team will show up Monday?

On the other hand, Canton lost some easy games early in the season. Since taking on Mason, they are undefeated against the BEST in the north. Rome is over rated and Canton is under rated. Rome did pick up a good defensive lineman though.

Is that enough to win???

Is that enough to win??? I wish more people would pick like Bandito, I liked it better last year when we were always the underdog. And yes we did pick up a good lineman in Barry Hall. He brought with him some NFL experience .He's doing a great job on the OFFENSIVE line.

Bandito you couldnt have been more right...What was it like 6 or so turnovers by Rome...Canton 61-40...

As for my pick, i had Rome all the way because of the home field and their experience...So much for my pick...

Actually, no he doesn't. And since he broke the rules, the American Bowl is considered a forfeit win for the Huntington Heroes.

(From a previous thread) Congrats to the Legends. We gave them the ball too many times for us to win this one. I also met Andrew Haines last night, he doesn't actually have horns and a cape like some people would have you believe. Keep up the good work Andrew & co. It really was a great game overall, Canton took advantage of our mistakes and scored more than we did. To all the Rome haters out there, I understand that the season is starting earlier next year, so you won't have to wait as long to bash us again;) . Again Congrats legends.

And everyone in the Rome organization deserves a standing ovation for an excellent game presentation Monday night. A class act and a class product.

I thought I could find a loophole somewhere in that League Operations Manual, but I'm having trouble because every time I look at it, it keeps changing.

I have to second that, Harry Pierce and his entire crew pulled out all the stops for a great championship weekend.

Yes. I have to admit that I was a bit apprehensive traveling into "enemy" territory, but the Renegade organization is first class in every way. Just wanted to post a "thank you" to Mr. Pierce and his staff from the Legend fans. Outstanding job. :)

Heck, Tatonka, you're going to be the inspiration for half my rewrites of the media relations manual.

Dan, I just hope you don't spend a lot of time on that rewrite. If you do, make it generic so the words AIFL can be replaced easily.

Sent it out at the start of the season. Obviously you didn't read it. I'd be more than happy to send you a copy.

Well, if things don't work out for the AIFL, I hope this new PIFL finds a way to snap up Daytonadan.

He's done a great job.

I agree, Dan has done a better job than the league deserves. I love the game coverage provided on the AIFL home page. Too bad there isn't a message board to post our comments to.

If I knew one existed, it would have been read. It might not have changed anything though; reading the Ops Manual sure didn't...

He has, and under less than ideal conditions... I just hope he realizes that every team wasn't run like the Thunder, and volunteers are usually doing the best with what they have to work with. Front office is a team sport too.

For the kind remarks of the last few posts.

It has been a great season of professional growth for me. Being Director of Communications meant I spent a lot of time DIRECTING rather than COMMUNICATING and the dynamic of 16 teams and personalities was an interesting challenge.

Sometimes I saw myself as a teacher and mentor than a director. The teams and staff members that wanted to displayed growth. Others, well...

It's easy to crank out a few paragraphs, but to create and enact as much of a communications plan that enabled long-term growth and credibility, that was the success of the communications.

Again, thanks. Bandito, I have a spare set of teeth for you...:)

And you guys really want a copy of the media relations manual? It's just a word document.

So is the Ops Manual... hasn't stopped every Tom, Dick and Harry from asking for it. (and no, BTW, it hasn't been distributed to anyone, at least not by me.)

No matter who says what or intended to whatever; Dan deserves a huge round of applause for all that he has done especially with what he has been given to work with. He and Daytona Beach has been what this league has tried to be. Congrats to him and them!
