Falconi Field Washington, PA.
The Washington Wild Things (15-17) defeated the Traverse City Beach Bums 5 - 3 behind a great outing from Matt Squires (lhp). Squires line doesn't indicate how well he threw. He was ahead of the Bums hitters all night and other than a rough first inning, where he gave up three hits and two runs, the Bums were not much of a match for him. He settled down and allowed only one more run and six runners in his last five innings.
Robbie McClellan (rhp), former Arizona State Player and the 2003 12th round pick of the Kansas City Royals, opposed Squires. McClellan struggled through the first three innings but was able to keep the Wild Things off the scoreboard. In the fourth inning the Wild Things erupted for four runs, sending McClellan to the showers at the end of the inning.
