..sometimes if a player thinks they will get called to the NBA, they will stay in the CBA or even ABA rather than go overseas.

I am still hoping G-Mac is playing in Albany next season, but he may end up overseas. As much of a Syracuse fan as I am, I don't think he is NBA material.

Guys:

These are interesting lists, with names of players that I have not seen, or only once. Its the age old question of playing overseas vs minor league ball in the States. Question, I have seen guys get called up from the developement league and the CBA, but not the ABA or other minor leagues.

I was wondering which minor league had the highest level of play. I would guess the CBA, because of more veteran players, then the nbdl. I wonder how the other minor leagues compare. Or leagues in Europe. Lastly, does anybody know any free websites to track american players in Europe?

Good stuff men, very informative,

Tom from metro Detroit

As far as I know, the ABA is the only league with no affiliation to the NBA. I could be wrong.

The NBDL is the only league with an affialiation to the NBA. They CBA has players called up, but they aren't affiliated. The ABA has none, although they used to have a few players called up every year until Newman took over. The summer leagues, nothing, obviously no players called up because it is too late in the season.
