...unless they are playing Yakima (which they have two more games with--at home), then maybe they will win two more. Even then, it is all a matter of quarter points...AND IT AIN'T LOOKING PRETTY! Especially if the Steelheads are out of roster moves.

"I'd rather be playing in the CBA than sitting on the bench in the NBA".

Did 7'2" Bruno Sundov, the Steelheads most recently acquired player, REALLY say that? No, did he really go there? Seriously, did Bruno Sundov's "no rebounding, no shot-blocking, no shot-making-in-the-paint, no wanting-to-make-physical-contact" butt actually say that he could play for a CBA team instead of riding the pine? Geezo! The little CYO boys at halftime were banging the boards harder than Bruno! Hitting more shots in the paint too.

Bruno is not the only issue though. It just doesn't seem like the Steelheads players are having fun. The chemistry doesn't seem to be there anymore.

You seem to be a large Steelhead fan, so what is your opinion on what they should do? You are one of a few who actually write on things they are knowledgable of so I would be interested.

As for the CBA, I am sure they have Great Lakes on their schedule so add those W's. I emailed their front office two weeks ago and got no response to my questions or thoughts. I am sure they receive so many emails it must be tough to respond! :D

South Atlantic,
That's ironic because I emailed the Great Lakes front office a month or so ago and got no response either. I don't think they have had much of a real front office all season. Their website also hasn't been updated all season. Chris Webber stepping-in as an owner can only help this franchise...it already has paid dividends in terms of fans eager to see Chris Webber (possibly) in the arena.

Maybe Gary has corrected the problem already. I am listening to the internet broadcast of the Gary/Rockford game as I am posting this. Gary has a new player, Kevin McCloud, in the game and he seems to be making an impact. Bruno Sundov has not been in the game to this point. What will fix Gary's ills if they have not already been corrected? Put Bruno Sundov on a fast plane to Europe and don't look back. Hopefully he is gone already. Gary needs another large body who can play some quality minutes. Bruno Sundov is NOT the large body Gary needs!

I emailed the storm in December and they sent me a schedule and a season ticket brochure.

Let me Correct myself:

The Steelheads newest player is Keith McLeod, not somebody named Kevin McCloud.

The Great Lakes Storm finally began updating their website in January (around the time they found out C-Web was becoming part of the organization).

In the Thank Goodness department:

NBA phenom Bruno Sundov WAS waived Saturday morning after sleepwalking through the only two games he played (played?) for Gary.

The Steelheads might make the playoffs yet. There seems to be another three teams in the CBA with similar lack of heart issues.

Thank goodness I was wrong (for once) on the Steelheads possibly winning no more than two more games for the rest of the season. They have already won four since I first posted that summation.

The Steelheads just signed Lee Nailon, a big man with extensive NBA experience who can score and bang the boards. That makes up for the Bruno Sundov signing fiasco...I still can't get over THAT one.

I wonder how much play-off tickets cost?
