Atlantic City: Best pitching staff in Indy baseball
Somerset: Sparky Lyle
Lancaster: Best fans in the Atlantic League. Best home stadium.

Let's see how long the fans in Lancaster are the best.
New stadium fans aren't the most loyal.

I'm not looking to start an argument or anything but I'm curious as to why you think Lancaster has the best fans in the Atlantic League. Long Island consistently outdraws them in attendance. They even had 800+ fans show up for a mid-season game in Bridgeport. What's so special about Barnstormer fans?

It's true, Ducks fans are the best in the Atl. League. "Buck-eee!"...maybe, the best fans in Independent league baseball. Perhaps a tie with the St Paul Saints fans.
My comments were really directed to the Atl League South where Lancaster fans are the best.
How about Persails (of the AC Surf) pitching effort vs the Ducks today?
And, Lancaster beat Somerset in the bottom of the 9th today.
Reason: the Lancaster fans got the Barnstormers psyched

I don't mean to start an argument either, but I have attended almost all of the Bluefish's home games this season, and let me tell you, there were NOT 800+ Duck fans in the ballpark. I don't even know which dates you mean by this. You either mean the beginning of the season, which is not mid-season, which I did not see ANY Duck fans in those two opening games, or you mean the most recent four-game series, which I can tell you, there were NOT 800+ Duck fans those four nights. There were some, sitting by the Duck dugout, but I would guess only about 15 AT MOST. Meanwhile, I wish the Ducks luck (but not too much) the rest of the season.

I didn't specify a particular year. You must be new to the 'Fish or you missed this one. It was August 9, 2004 and it was for the first half championship. Some estimates at the time put the numbers as high as 1500 Ducks fans in Harbor Yard. It sounded like there were 5000. I know, I was there. The 800 number I used was from the PJ Ferry receipts. I assume that at least some fans, especially those from Nassau County and western Suffolk, drove to Bridgeport rather than take the ferry (It's faster and cheaper for them to drive). 1000 is a reasonable number.
"The game had to be made up on August 9th,(2004) to determine the first half championship. The game resumed with the Ducks defeating Bridgeport 5-4, scoring a run in the 9th inning to clinch the first half title and the team's first-ever playoff appearance. 5,500 fans witnessed the Ducks' victory, about 1,000 of whom were Ducks fans who had made the trip to Bridgeport on the Long Island Ferry."

Back at ya on the luck. LaPointe is a terrific guy and, as I'm sure you're aware, a terrific manager. There's no way I could root against him. (Unless his team is playing the Ducks) By the way, I've been to Harbor Yard several times. The 'Fish fans are great and have always treated me like a welcome guest even though I was wearing Ducks "colors". I love your park. It's one of the nicest in the league and it happens to be my favorite park. I actually prefer it to Citibank Park. Now get to work and get your friends and neighbors to a game and fill those seats. The Bluefish deserve better.

Ah, I could never forget August 9th. I try to block that game out of my memory...

Yes it was a great day for Ducks' fans. I wouldn't feel jealous though. The 'Fish have had far more "great days" than the Ducks.

That was OK,but the game ending triple play tonight was a killer.
P.S. The Lancaster fans are good but it's a toss up between them and Somerset. New franchises historically have good numbers to start out. Somerset has stood the test of time.
