Anyone know if this game was played?

I called down to Florida and it sounds like a player thats answering the phone or whatever. But he said "the team we were supposed to play didn't show up." When I asked if the game had been rescheduled he said "we're waiting to hear from the league." So I would assume the game will not be played, but who knows. For now, it's at least "postponed"

I've confirmed it as well. How could the league and Florida not have been aware there might be a problem with Dayton showing up? I know Florida is only drawing a few hundred fans a game (reported), but surely they deserve to be given some advance notice. Yet, nothing is on the Frenzy website or the league site.

BTW, that means five of 10 scheduled league games this past weekend were not played at all. Fifty percent has to be a record. It's also Florida's second straight missed home date.

Heaps of shame upon Dayton for their dismal failure to complete the season.

But shame on Florida for not bothering to CHECK if the team was coming.

So, what happened? Did the team and the fans all show up at the arena, but no opponent?

Something screwy seems to be going on with Florida lately, as well.

Remember, last week they took the forfeit for Palm Beach not coming to the Frenzy's site for a game.

Another unexplained phenomena, at least I never saw the official explanation.

Fred, I believe you are right. Add to the fact that league president Carolyn Shiver was at the last home game Florida played (as stated in a Frenzy press release), and you have to wonder if more is happening in Florida than meets the eye.

Since the home team apparently gets the loss in every forfeit, I guess I'll give Florida the forfeit loss for my standings. Sigh.

I mean in this league who knows...But if the home team takes the loss in a forfeit ..LOL Nobody should ever travel...Then every team would win all their road games and lose all their home ones...The whole league would be 7-7 without a game ever being played. Now that would be funny.

I'd hate to figure out those playoff tiebreakers! :)

Oh yeah, it's a headache sometimes. But hey, it's nice to keep everyone informed, so that's why I do it. :)
