With talk of a new 'PIFL' , it begs the question, just who are Simpson and Hewitt and how can they guarantee, or at least attempt to guarantee some kind of stability. Posters, who do you feel are the most stable franchises in eastern indoor football ? I would tend to limit discussion to eastern teams since this is the AIFL site and all of the AIFL teams are eastern squads. I know Daytona is solid, Augusta and Rome seem to be solid and since Rome owns Raleigh, I guess they are solid to. Up north it seems like Erie and Reading are both in pretty good shape along with Johnstown. The rest ?????

What about the NIFL franchises. Who's solid enough aside from Fayetteville to consider making a move to another nationally oriented league. I see the PIFL website envisions eight regions but anytime you leave a region to play, expenses go through the roof. I suspect that Florence's trip to Huntongton last week was close to outta sight with gas expenses for the bus.

If you've read up on the league, their intent is to be regional without any (if possible) long road trips between regions. And will not stick teams out on an island with killer travel expenses.

I've heard that there is solid interest in teams like Rome, etc... from the PIFL. I know that they would love to have the Southern AIFL teams on board. I'm not an expert on those dicussions. I just know that Hewitt and Simpson want to see some integrity and character added back to the indoor football landscape.

If they fail, at least they did trying. If they succeed, I believe that all teams will enjoy their experience with the PIFL beyond anything they have experienced.

Based on what attendance reports I could find:
On the bubble:
Canton
Erie
Steubenville
Miami Valley
That leaves:
Augusta
Chattahoochee Valley
Dayton Beach
Florence
Huntington
Johnstown
Raleigh
Reading
Richmond
Rome
You have two road teams (Cash, I mean Ghostchasers and Pennsylvania) that you could either fold or try to find cities for. With NIFL Dayton dead and buried, I could see Miami Valley trying to move south, but on the other hand, the Dayton market is so burned by so many badly run indoor franchises in the past, their best bet might by to stay put and try to draw what few fans are left in Montgomery and Greene County to Miami County.
