Hey everyone read this below what some of the jacakls staff and the city members had to say about it:

General Manager Robbie Nichols:
"The Frostbite and Trashers folding will not change their plans of playing in the UHL next season. But, they are prepared to pay a little more money in travel costs or maybe even get some help from the league. Monday's news has the city and county leaders a little concerned about the folding of the Frostbite and Trashers It could add more financial strain on the Jackals. We are already struggling with its cash flow"

Chemung County Executive Tom Santulli:
"To me, it certainly concerns me. I think that the league's gonna be decreased in size, especially in the Eastern Division, and we're gonna add significant travel monies to a team which already admits it's losing money. But if they say it's business as usual, then it's business as usual. Time will tell the story,"

City Councilman Jim Hare:
"Whatever they reassure you, you can never believe. Previously, there had been some interest in have our team join the Eastern league. That would save and cut costs, but my understanding is that the Eastern league doesn't want Dr. Afr, so it just re-enforces the fact that Dr. Afr needs to go," he says.

Jackals President Tamer Afr:
"We might but maybe not Jim hare is just trying to get rid of us, He has from day one. We are going to saty in the UHL untill we can move up a league higher."

I liked the quote from Tamar Afr. I'm from Louisville, Ky. and we just love him down here. By the way Tamar, are the checks still in the mail? I'm just glad we actually got 2 years (out of the 10 year lease) in the AHL. I enjoyed Eric Boguniecki, Marcus Nilson, Brad Ference and I even got to see Roberto Luongo for 3 games. All that before the Afr's pulled the plug. Thanks for absolutely killing hockey in Louisville!!!!!

What higher league would have them? The ECHL doesn't want them and the AHL has been there done that with Tamer. Louisville Panthers anyone??? Doc gave him the team and he, by all accounts I have heard, treated it like a toy to play with when he wasn't busy chasing fast cars and faster women.

You beat me to the punch, HockeyFan70! The Afr's, Doc in particular, have left behind bad feelings here in Michigan too (both Fraser and Port Huron). He pulled the Detroit Falcons from Fraser because the booster club didn't sell enough season tickets (like it was THEIR job). To this day there is a skeleton of an arena standing up in Port Huron that was supposed to be for the Port Huron Border Cats. Funny, when you don't pay the contractor, buildings tend not to get built. Although they are on their second team since then, Port Huron has been fortunate enough to not be without hockey since then.

Where can I get a job like that?

Where can I get a job like that?

First, you have to have a rich Daddy who will buy you a place to work. Second, you have to have fairly weak morals. From there it's pretty easy!

What kills me about the Afr family is that Louisville had an awesome ECHL team (riverfrogs) and the ownership sold the franchise in order for triple-a hockey to be brought in. First year home opener there were bands in the parking lot, free food, budweiser flowing, paws the mascot was everywhere. The river-city was hockeytown! Two and a half years later channel 32 news is chasing Dr. Afr across a parking lot in Port Huron demanding answers! The Afr's owe and owe and owe in the commonwealth of Kentucky. What sucks is they killed hockey in Louisville. The owner of our AF2 team won't touch hockey. The people who own Freedom Hall (17,000 for hockey) and Broadbent arena (6,600 for hockey) want it back but are not flipping over backwards to get it. You want to pay for it up front, then they have a sweet lease.

..wonder if it is the same folks. Personally, having lived near there before, it is surprising to me that the ELM can support a hockey team.
